I note that this SUV is to be released shortly. I think it's originally manufactured as a GMC in the States, but that's about all I know.
Does anyone have any info or opinions?

only seen pics... courtesy of the Holden marketing people
(helps to be a fleet manager on their email list) but no specs yet.
looks HUGE (compared to say a Colorado) but of course
it remains to be seen in the flesh ...
having said that... I think it is ugly
(not a fan of 'tank' styling :spew: , I much prefer the Expedia )

Would it have broken the bank to re-do the front grille so it fits the Holden badge without the weird looking inset that makes the badge look like a tie clip.

Yeah the grille does look a bit like a tie clip insert. :lmao:
I am sure that plenty of new owners will re fit GMC badges on them.
I also reckon General Motors would find they would sell more of them with GMC badges in Australia also.

General specs have been released through most motoring media outlets yesterday
Even the base model is coming fully loaded with equipment and saftey gear. Its a car I am interested in for the family pending price. I think price will be key to it having any chance given how competitive the 7 seat SUV segment is.

an ABSOLUTELY spot example of what is wrong with Holden in this country....
why not indeed, a decent new grille? that setup just looks so... tacky, an afterthought!:flipoff:

Saw this, looks as though it's 2 cylinders short of an engine.

next question is....
where does this thing leave the Trailblazer in the Holden model range?
.. a dead duck?

I don't think the Arcadia is a true 4WD, think more Kluger, CX9 etc.

more like the Kia Sorento me thinks...
available in both FWD and AWD depending on the chosen model level
but all come with 3.6l V6 and 9 speed auto though
(according to motoring.com.au)

Many friends of ours in the Blue camp have been saying this for years, Ford did change theirs though, whether for the better I don't know.

Not much is being said about the "V6 Engine",....any info?..powere & torque etc, does it appear in any other GM product?

(according to motoring.com.au)They all compete for the same market share.
It's the replacement for the Captiva which is certainly a step in the right direction but I don't think they could have gone any other way but up following the Craptiva.
Trailblazer is still a ute based SUV, like the Everest, Fortuna etc.

PicklesSame V6 as the VXR and RS-V Commodores according to drive...just different tune I guess as the figures are slightly different.

It's the 2004 3.6 V6 "Alloy Tech" engine (sound familiar to Commodore owners ???) and that will be its downfall .... Power and torque delivery over 5K - 6K RPM. with very poor fuel consumption by modern standards.
Sadly it is no match in either power delivery down low or fuel economy to the Mazda CX-9.
But as usual Holden marketing are putting spin on it "Premium engine" guess it was for 2004, but hang on girlfriend in marketing it is now 2018!
It is unfortunate for the Holden dealer network as it is just another dressed up turd muffin and the general public are on to it.
In the land of marketing --- here is a deep thought.
"Crap screams vs quality is mute" a you tubing photographer said.
I let you decide which one Holden is marketing currently doing. ;-)
I swear they are doing the best to take the piss out of us in traditional Australian style.

Is it me or are the interior seeming to get a lot harder looking plastics inside again, funny the VF went so far forward in the interior department but now everything coming out looks so backwards, I know this is a different model line, but still the interior looks damn cheap and nasty to me
Another fail, fug styling and cheap interior finishes. Already looks dated and not even on sale here yet! You must applaud GM for being able to make Toyota's look inspiring and modern.

Any holden ending in an A is a POS.
The more I look at the release pics , it resembles something Haval would do.:fewl:

Pretty hard to tell the quality of something based on pics. Think some of the comments are pretty harsh seen as no one has actually sat in one let alone driven one.

We had one for over five years as second car only one very minor problem under warranty, but a solid little vehicle.

Thought this was interesting. The Acadia scored better with ANCAP, than the new BMW X5

I've been poking fun at a mate's Mustang for the last couple of years. Looks like US Holden models are now in the firing line.

Yet to see one in the flesh but I think they're a good looking car. Trying to sway the Mrs to go and have a look at one but she's pretty firm in the CX-9 camp.

Went to my local dealer to have a good look. They are chunky beasts. Seemed pretty well put together, tons of room inside, heaps of features. Styling wasn't to our taste thouvh, too chunky, too american. Prefer the more Euro look of the santa fe/sorento & cx9

No vehicle is perfect, but from what I've read, the Acadia seems to be able to hold its own with the competition, if that is the type of vehicle you are after.

I've actually seen more of these on the road than the new Commodore which is crazy to me. They look decent in the metal.
