Looking at the above vehicle for my son. I know it is a Ford, but was thinking most on here can see past that. So anyone have any feedback on them, good or bad? It looks to be in Very good condition and been with same owner for past 10 years. Thoughts? What are they worth, ballpark figure.

Depends so much on condition.

Hey Rod I don't mind them at all,

Bit confused Rod when you say "Tickford" do you mean it has the VCT 6 cyl engine?
Because AU XR6 came out with a normal OHC engine & a VCT option,
the sedans with VCT generally had IRS fitted instead of the solid rear axle which was the only setup available on the ute.

I don't remember Ford making any "Tickford" edition XR6 utes
but loads of people call the ones fitted with VCT a "Tickford" engine because they have a "Tickford" badge on the VCT part of the head.

Normal OHC engines or VCT are not much different, both are fairly solid & reliable.
The engine had quite a bit of torque for a 6 cylinder & you can tow up to 2,300kgs with them using the correct tow bar if it's an auto????? (Less tow capacity for manual)

One thing I would do with it for certain if auto is a decent aftermarket bypass transmission cooler because Fords are very bad for milk shake problems in the radiator.

Google "Falcon milkshake" & you will see what I mean. :lmao:

this will be it https://www.redbook.com.au/cars/details/2002-ford-falcon-ute-xr6-vct-au-ii-auto-super-cab/SPOT-ITM-219715/

I reckon it would be a good first car for him mate in the sort of condition you say.

Another great thing about utes is that he can't have a car load of mates in there with him as a bad influence. :lmao:

I said exactly the same thing to my wife this morning regarding a car load of mates and the disaster waiting to happen.

AU falcons have a very good reputation amongst Ford enthusiasts for longevity. It will be a cool ute.
