Hi all. My trusty old '07 VE SSV ute has hit me with another oddball issue.
I'm unfortunate enough to have to park my car outside on a sloped driveway (down from the road), so the front is lower than the rear by about 300mm. I have found that in heavy rain, the carpet gets very wet on the passenger's side. My take on this is that water enters the door outside the window, and settles in the bottom of the door. If it was on the level, the water would simply run out the drains in the bottom of the door, but as its on a slope, there probably isn't a drain at the very front of the door, and water can accumulate and spill over the cutout on the inside of the door before it gets to the drain, which might be 20-30cm from the front of the door. If the plastic sheet was bonded to the door properly, it probably wouldn't matter.
My solution is initially to park it in reverse, but maybe putting some extra drain holes in the front (and rear) of the doors might be of benefit.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Cheers Mike Wood
