Looking at a VF 2014 SSV Redline

Hi guys
Been out of the LS scene for a while now. Im looking at getting back into another again and spotted locally in Vic a 2014 VF SSV Redline . Its done 70k its stock but has options like sunroof, brembos and is an auto. Its a private sale and is advertised at $27500 . I haven't viewed it in person but may go and check it out tomorrow. My question is what should I look for other than the usual things? Any known faults to be aware of ?
Seeing I have been out of the scene for a bit Im looking for any advice from you guys .
Any feed back on the price ?
Looking around on the market it seems well priced??

Being an L77 6L ask to listen to the engine from a stone cold start, some of those L77's had cam/lifter issues. Obviously ask for proof of service history & oil used. For 70K mileage it should pretty much drive as new. Price seems ok.

Mine's done nearly 80K and no major dramas so far.

The only things I've had replaced are the steering rack and harmonic balancer (known issue with LS-based motors).

Sounds obvious, but check the tyres and brakes (pads and rotors). I've been through (I bought it brand new):
- one set of front tyres
- two sets of rear tyres
- one set of front brake pads

Still on my original rear pads with a lot of life left in them. When I next replace the front pads, I will have to do the front rotors as they have a distinct lip. Machining is likely to bring them under legal thickness.

I have always wanted an E2 OR E3 clubsport but Im unsure if the VF is a better driving platform or not.
The clubby is still just out of my price range unless I get one with a lot of KMS.
Without of course currently getting up to my eyeballs in debt

Love the car. Drives well, handles well and is relatively quiet inside.

Fuel consumption is not bad, I have the Walkinshaw W310 pack which includes a tune, so economy is slightly better than stock.

Absolutely would purchase it again if I had my time over.

FWIW - the car is paid off later in 2020 and I have no intention of replacing it. It's a keeper.

Ive had both the VE Calais V 6L & now a my16 SSV LS3 & recently bought a my17 Calais V LS3, imho the VF with electric steer & many ally suspension components rides & handles far better than the VE.

.. the VF is 100% better than any of the E series
the changes made ... like electric steering and suspension
and the interior put it so far ahead it is not funny
(I say that having had both.. still have the VF :) )

Went and viewed the car today cold start was fine no noises , seemed like a genuine car drove well.
Thought it would go better but it was all suburban back streets so couldn't get silly.
Comes with a roady but only 3mths rego.*I got the price down to $26,500 but was pushing for $26,000.
There is nothing with the kms on it under $32k in Vic that I can see

I am looking at a G6ET 2014 running 294 rwkw same kms but $1000 cheaper in same condition with roady and 10mths rego as well.

Just buy it mate. :yup:

The "G6ET 2014 running 294 rwkw" will never sound like a V8,

likely have had a harder life & I reckon the VF will retain it's price better. :cheers:
