I just recently bought myself a VE SSV Redline from a dealer that came with an Orssom OTR already installed. It still has the MAF sensor fitted.
I've got no information about any other mods other than the exhaust was changed out for something more fitting with the V8 sound. She does pop and crack on deceleration. :)
Is the OTR legal and am I due to run into issues with this if stopped by the police? I've no intentions of doing anything stupid at my age (56) as I intend to look after the car. It's taken me a long time to be in a position to own an Aussie V8 since I first saw them in 1993 when I traveled from Scotland to Bathurst. ;)

That is a gray area.
AFAIK The air filter needs to be fully enclosed to be 100% legal.
Plenty of Police will let it go if you have the MAF connected but some might still pick on it for an open filter or modifications.
If they want to get you for something they can normally find something, somewhere on most cars.
A guy I know was given a serious (Full Government Inspection) defect on a brand new HSV GTS a couple of years ago for window tint.
(He thought he was being smart condescending to the officer, the officer thought he was a smart arse & he got back what he deserved. )

Short answer is no they are not legal
but if you do the right thing in your driving & attitude it is not likely to cause you any problems.

When was the last time a Police officer pulled you over and looked under the bonnet? I wouldn't worry about it, even if the worst happens it is still an easy thing to rectify, unlike some of the bigger and more expensive mods.

Loads of mods aint legal but that isnt something that stands out like if the car was slamed on its arse
or a reel loud exhaust I think as long as you dont do stuff bad the cops wont notice
And then they will leeve you alone.
