Howdy all, looking for some advice on parts for my beloved wagon.
Have noticed a bit of water on the LR floor after heavy rain and washing. So I am looking at replacing some of the weather seals around the doors and windows.
I went down to my local Sheens Panel shop for some advice and a quote and the nice fella laughed at me ...... Doh ...... with Holden dead and a nearly 20 year old car, seems parts can not be sourced (easily) any more (as you would expect I suppose). He basically told me to get on the net and see what I could find .....
So, I'm looking for some sort of parts list/schematic to work out what parts I should be searching for...... I didn't realize how many bloody seals/shields/rubbers made up the doors and windows .....
I also have a few clips that need replacing around the tail gate lock before the plastic surround snaps ......... any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks as always folks.
Cheers,
Franga

Hey Carlton, I would talk to the boys at Rare Spares for some advice,
they might have what you need and I am sure if not should at least to be able to point you in the right direction.
My next call would be to Holmart they also might be able to give you some advice.
As for schematic diagrams, there are a few places online where you can free download
a workshop manual.
I have linked one below for a VT Commodore & you might find most of the stuff in the rear of the wagon the same
but you should be able to navigate around their site and find something more specific to your needs
https://www.allcarmanuals.com/factory-service-manual-78-Holden-Commodore-VT.html
or even do a quick google search of "free download workshop manual VY Commodore".
Hope that is some help.

That link seems to have problems at the moment so here is another one to try.

Ok lads, need some more help (sorry), I'm really struggling to find the part numbers I am chasing. I've had a look at the manuals and links suggested (downloaded a few and installed a few 'add ons') but they have not really helped.
I have managed to score a few parts but this has been through blind luck and way too much searching and googling.
Does Holden service/parts still have a presence anywhere? As I used to be able to head down to the local Holden dealer and chat to the old bloke behind the counter (he had access to some great tools/DB's that could pull up all sorts of diagrams, schematics and part numbers).
Have sort of given up out of frustration recently (as I bought the same part about 4 times on different occasions and had to cancel and get refunds b/c the descriptions were a little dodgy).
End of the day I want to replace as many of the weather strips/seals/door seals/window seals etc as I can get my hands on (as most are looking a little tired after 270,000km's and almost 20 years.......... damn that went quicky).
This is what I have manged to get so far:
HOLDEN VX VY VZ COMMODORE WAGON RIGHT HAND REAR DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP 92048758
HOLDEN Commodore VT VX VY VZ WAGON LHR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP # 92087071
DOOR SEAL LH FRONT OUTER VT VX VY VZ WH WK WL 92087067
Door Window RUBBER SEAL Mould Genuine Holden commodore VT VX VY VZ DRIVER front
Genuine commodore VT VX VY VZ LEFT REAR Door Window Belt Mould Trim WAGON NEW
and badge as my front grill has lost all the silver bits
BADGE EMBLEM GRILLE VY SS & S COMMODORE
Oh and 3 new door stikes
And all that has taken waaaaay too long and b/c I'm a nuffy ....
Cheers lads (and ladies) ..........
