Hi guys

I went to the plex last night and ran a best of 13.795@99.77mph with a 2.224 60 foot, first ever time racing. Officially Australias quickest factory blown 6 :D I know their is a lot more in it when I learn how to launch properly

My worst run of the night was 14.117@83.95mph with 2.178 60 foot. Was my best launch but I left it in first after the burnout and was bouncing off the limiter in 2nd  I reckon that run would have been a 13.6 or their abouts.

This drag racing is soo addictive, ill be going at every chance I get, next week bring on the 13.5's

Also could I be added to the non LS! quick list :)

Congradulations on your result SuperSS, I've been wondering when we would see some super6 times. Do you have the factory blower or aftermarket?

I am planning to get mine up to eastern creek around christmas to see what I can pull as I have never raced before either, it's a bit difficult when you live nearly 3 hours from the nearest strip. So 13.795 is the time to beat, I'll see what I can do. Keep posting your results up

OK riddle me this please. How can it be possible to run a 13.7 @ 99mph with a 60 foot time of 2.2 when the average LS1 with say average of 220rwkw run roughly the same time with the same 60 foot time, yet at an average 103 104 105 and even 106mph

this is a question not a dig or questioning anything wriiten in this thread

TeamKiwi: Good question, I think it is to do with the power curve, the blower producing more bottom end than the LS1 or something. I'm sure someone can answer that knows more than me though.

Interesting difference in terminal velocity there, with the so-called "stuffed" run having an ~84 mph, and the good run having ~100 mph... Any reason anyone could think of that this would be the case?

Lindsay

PS. Congrats on the run- sounds like fun, got to have a crack sometime, when I have a car that's engine isn't going to blow up...

Good stuff mate. I'm still trying to convince the Mrs to get the pulley upgrade, but it's hard when she can't see past a car being a way of getting from point A to B. I always get the "Is it broken?" thing going on. The fingers are still crossed.....

The reason for the 84mph time is I left the shifter in 1st after the bunout, it changed to 2nd at the rev limiter and then bounced off the limiter at the top of 2nd, ended up just taking my foot off the accelerator. I couldn't believe the 14.117 when I got the slip, I was expecting a lot lot higher time. I am now going to be a lot more cautious when it comes to staging.

Probably goes to show that the blown 6 goes very well mid track. Generally once the autos hit 3rd they slow down abit, where the LS1 keeps on going to get the higher terminal speed. My old VN was similar running 13.6@101 with a 2.1 60 foot.

hehe subs and battery in boot were removed but ran with a full tank of fuel.

Next week, half a tank, bottle of octane boost and I might test out my cat replacement straight pipes

Nice opening pass, good to finally see some Supercharged 6 stuff happening, I'll contact you during the week for some extra details, and I'll write something up for the mag (Quarter Pounders).

13 second category is a good effort!

Hope you enjoy the car and get faster, I know the first time I went drag racing I was rather nervous, but got used to it fairly fast.

Spent the next few weeks working out how I could go faster and waiting to run again though!! :driving:

Cheers......... Tim
