As Strife posted we hit the track to have another crack after my driving exploits with a lighter drivers seat.

The result.Here (http://www.streetquick.com/kim11.jpg)

We now plan to put my little 346 in the ute seeing as it is all set up and a proven reliable package and shoot for the same results with the small motor. The engine is to be sealed by ANDRA before fitting to alleviate any confusion as to what is in the car.

The 382" will go back in with the big 2 stage N2O shot loaded after that. We aren't going the F##$ a 7000km car by fitting roll cages etc and will leave the 10na on the table for whoever wants it and Iam sure it will be claimed soon...the kudos that goes with it is alluring but to deviate from the big picture would be we feel short sighted and anyone who cannot appreciate this cars capacity to eventually claim the 10....are well delusional. Everyone who stands on the start line and hears it screech the tyres through first gear understands why the 60' is down and where the et would come from. But there is only so much the standard factory shocks will do. Who said IRS was crap?

But yeah it has been an interesting journey and to get the results we have with a small cam, good heads (2.02"intake 1.55" exhaust) and Delcos multi map timing, LS1Edit+ Hex manipulation (Huge thanks to Chipmaster for the time and patience with this deal-an honest guy with an honest interest in making LS1 Fast!) has been very satisfactory and quite frankly vindicating. It is not the highest claimed HP unit out there (288rwkw DD Morosso speed calculator shows 450 fwhp ave.) but a well sorted functional unit that we never turn over 6600rpm.

Spose bottom line...have we run a 10? No. But under the ANDRA circumstances...close enough for this deal...for now!

Is Kim happy? Who wouldn't be...he is having a ball! Hope his Nitro Harley exploits are as much fun for him......

Can't wait to get Strife's "Real Deal" up and at 'em!:burnout:

11.02 so close bloke!

I understand that endless tuning would of been required to get this car to this time but is there nothing more in it to give you an extra .03 sec?

With the 346 do you plan to get to these times as well?

Top effort either way!

it is right there...we need no more power and if you look over the results I have posted in recent times the mph has always stayed around the 122.44mph...the '60 foot is slow via wheel spin for a car of this et. It should 60' in the 1.5s and this is where the et would come from....always remember there is no et in the second half of the track...a shock change would fix it but with that you loose the street valving and they are street cars aren't they?

The 346 is expected to emulate what the stroker has achieved...just have to rev it a bit harder! But I won't be spending to much time messing around with it...Kim has a busy schedule coming up soon...Top Bike rider? Got big cohunies that fella!

On the wind factor...it was a 20mph head wind. I have the data file here via my Kestrel weather station- great product that is easy to use. The Aussie distributor is on these forums too!!http://www.nk.com.au

wind was still up this morning. http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDW60029.html

...Kwinana is next to Garden Island and Medina is the next suburb south. The track faces south.;)

Maybe it would of got there without the head wind.....who knows?

Well done, 11.02...twice!!

Have to git ma' pen ascribblin'

Still would have been nice to see the ten though:stick:

You know some guy is gonna come out of the woodwork and blitz the time and take all the glory don't you?

Every remembers Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, but no-one remembers the guy that had to sit there and do laps around the moon while they were down on the moon building sand castles.:D

Oh by the way, you WA guys have it too easy.:D

I just realised you made those passes 11 minutes apart. We would never get two runs 11-minutes apart over here. Can't wait for the new track though, not that we are going to get any more runs than ususal, just want a decent track, one that's not uphill.

Been a blast so far :D with some pretty wild rides around the street in it as well , what a friggen awesome street car.
Cant wait to start playing with the 346 and se if that will top it into the 10's. Just lucky that the headwind didnt drop and slot the ute into the 10's , would be a shame to have to put the cage into a mint street car - would end its track career like Yani's ute did. But I am also a little dissapointed that a 10 didnt eventuate as the fallback plan was to slot the 346 into my Monaro for some track duty , oh well just have to see how the blown deal goes.
Hopefully when the 346 development is finished then Kims motor can go back in and have 1 hit at the 9/10's with the NOS before retiring it.

We have learnt a lot of interesting stuff about how the spark attack rate in different gears can be adjusted as well as a heap of fueling issue - very very complex pcm we have in the engine bay. Thanks also to those guys out there that have been working on the code with me and some of the new tools we are developing in the EFILIVE group:burnout:

Great effort by John in building a solid combo , to date there has been not a single failure or breakage on the combo from day one, plugs have been changed a few times and the cam got upgraded slightly once we were able to access enough of the computer to tune it properly but other than that it is as it was built 26 months ago back in the very very early days of LS1 development when ported maf's and turtle removement was the hot rod ticket of the day :D
Just as well we dont race on Dyno's as this thing would still be doing 12's based purely on dyno figures :D

Lucky over here in the West? To damn right we are.....we have all the fast LS1s, a great track with efficent people running it, great beaches, hot women, awesome weather, low polution, alot of talented people, huge mineral reserves, great fishing etc etc and being so isolated few Eastern Staters want to come over and f$%^ it up for us:stick:

Runs eleven minutes apart? Well at that time of night everyone is gone or going so you can shoot around for another quicky even if the motor is a bit warm. They had 200 entries so it was slow early....

Moon travel? Watched Discovery channel the other night on that endeavour and they smoked a lot of people and gear getting to the moon....glad we didn't have to go that route. And I really don't think that in 30 years time anyone except those involved will remember the first 10 second LS1...I really don't think that most will even remember what an LS1 was...so if you want to be an immortal...best start building rockets and heading for Mars!!!!

It's not a Qld thing and for that matter it's not a state v state thing.

In reference to my post about the state of Pete's motor it was just that anyone who was there or saw the video knows he wasn't going to turn around and run a 10 the next meeting (as minor as the damage was).
Obviously while having upgrades done to his ute he has had an offer to go in a diffeerent direction.

No shit stir intended.

easy.

stroker assembly (we now have a package with all US forged internals for $6600inc GST), good cylinder heads work, comp cam in the 232@.050", 1.8 rockers, all your garden variety, engine assembly parts, Chipmaster tune, DF headers and cat back, 3.91 rear and persevere with the chassis set up. ;)

Sounds good, who makes the components from US
