Hmmm heard a whole bunch of gen-III's had there arses handed to them last night at Kwinana, by a VT V6 of all things.:hide:

Word is it was running stock auto, stock converter, 225 street tyres, and open centre diff with 3.07 gears.

Maybe it was the 35/40 turbo under the bonnet breathing through a front mounted intercooler that had it running 12.4 at 116mph, with a 2.44 60-foot time.

Good to see the V6's up and running hard.

Holy crap, but um, for my mind a waste of time and effort, would go a blown V8 everytime. 10 points for thinking outside the circle i spose.

Things are looking good for this combo , so far we are only running 16psi with a soft tune until the fuel system gets a further upgrade and it gets some slicks.

Tony from Forced Induction Technologies http://www.v6supercharged.com/dyno.html who owns the car was telling me he had to idle it off the line to get some traction and to eliminate the strain on the std box.
look out for 11's out of this combo in the future

thats a mighty fine effort!!

Is this sort of a modern day Buick Grand National??
The Americans love them for drag racing!!
I went to read up on this car but they were all Supercharged cars??

Car was originally superchaerged but Tony wanted more so went to a Vortech but was disappointed so finally has done a Turbo conversion to it , I will post some pics of it when I get the laptop online tommorow . Not a cheap exercise but it produces the results.

this is from the site, I have more at home. It was running on Dunlop FM901 (or 701 cant remember) tyres. On its best pass it only had about 9 to 10 degrees of timing

I emailed tony yesterday about the intercooler setup, he sent back that due to the mass amount of email enquies on the turbo setup didn't have time to reply and to give him a call. Looks like their may be a lot of turbo 6's running around in the future. It sure is a top piece of work.

extemely impressive

bout time someone has done some decent mods on the v6...
the engine has been in aus since 88 :hide: ...

only problems i can see with the install is the price and the fact that its been done on a supercharged ecotec....

sorta counts out a lot of people who have non-supercharged ecotecs or even us lowly people with non-ecotecs
