A hell of alot cheaper than an LS1 conversion though.
Actually a blown LS1 wouldn't actually put it to shame, though I'm sure some would but most, well.... can you say dyno queens!
Personally I think it's top effort from Tony and it's definitely one of those "thinking outside the square" jobbies. Stock bottom end, how good is that!

Pretty confident of the blown LS1. Blown Ls1's dont go near a track let alone down one except blown CV8.
Lets see
1. It's only built for circuit
2. Too easy driving in a straight line
3. Too much power (but no mph at the end:hmmm: )
4. It's got a get it running tune (whatever that is)
I havent heard my mum wont let me, but I bet it will come soon as the other excuses run thin.
Back on topic. Impressive 6 banger. Now you know what to do Scott. PS My sc mag hasnt turned up

When was the last time your jigger saw the drag strip Justice or was it only built for circuit racing-and I don't mean with some poxxy road race tyres as part of a rally?
Here is a new excuse you can use if you like: "We don't have a race track anymore and will have to wait for the new one to open"
Reckon you jumped the gun...aren't some of the fellas you are angling at heading to Heathcoate this weekend?? Hope they have a good day and you have a nice weekend now you hear...

... How about some S/Charged Owners think its a waste of time / No true test of Skill / just plain boring. :p
... Maybe its cause some S/Charged owners see the game of straightline driving is for the wife, me Im happy to avoid a game which has very little interest to me.
But then again I do play chess ...... :hide:

Sorry guys missed this thread thats why I haven't responded but to answer the question
No my excuse has always been,
I can't Drive?
but I also have never said or insinuated that I have the highest HP car.
I have also never made any sort of comment to say I love drag racing other wise I would be there everytime it is on. I think it takes a lot more skill than people give it credit for. It's not just sit in and hit the throttle.
And like Dane I cant be bothered to pull the big brakes off to fit the 15" slicks, therefore the laziness demands I run semi comps.
Yes I am a lot better on a circuit, and I am only average on a circuit so you can imagine how bad I am on the strip. HP makes up for my poor driving skill! But I am MAN enough to admit it
HQ On one hand you tell everybody to go to the strip and prove it as dyno's are only a tuning tool and now you rubbish me for saying the same. The Turbo six has hit the track and ran a good time. Somebody made a comment about the blown LS1's My comment was that BlownCv8 is the only one I know of that goes dragging so how could that statement hold weight. Credit to the guy with the six pack for having a go and running the time.

Whoa. Many here have commented about cash for comments. 2 months ago Starry could do no wrong in your eyes. Funny how I haven't seen him mentioned from you lately.
You have taken offence to my comment. You are not the only blown car in Aust. I am sure there are others. From memory I dont think you have ever said one of the comments I had mentioned.

Fantastic. Dane has at least been honest in his post. Disagree with the test of skill comment though Dane, or my skills are really bad but at least Dane has said 1/4 it shits him.

Forgot to answer this one. Posting crap like what's your favourite colour, then what is you least favourite colour is what I meant.:flamin:gave myself a flame.
Maybe you could post what's your favorite MAF colour?

Cash for comments? i didnt say anything about that at all, funny you did. Ive never posted anything about Starry, ive posted things about his blower package, one of which i happen to own....
I didnt really take offence, i just think that sometimes you post shit just to amuse yourself and stir the pot, your MAF post's Illustrate my point.

Feel free to keep making the subtle digs and innuendo, they are almost worth reading. But make sure no one steps over the line into "Personal attack mode" please. Because then you lose.

Where the hell did this thread come from and how did I end up as the first poster?
My comment re Blown LS1's is to do with the fact that there is a whole stack of them out there and yet the NA guys are at the top of the tree (discounting one nitrous car). Now sure some aren't interested in drags racing and that's fine, as long as they stay away from the whole, "it requires no skill arguement".
If it required no skill then you guys with blown LS1's should all be running 9's given the power you are producing.
Anyway my initial post was to do with the turbo VT and not this crap but someone thought they should put my name to this, well so be it.

blown VN, it may have stemmed from your suggestion that most of the blown LS1's are dyno queeens....

Whether I posed the suggestion of not it's wrong in every sense of the word to go starting threads under someone elses name especially for the express purpose of starting shit.
My comment wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, it was just a general comment on the fact that very little blown LS1's make it to the track.

Darren,
when did I rubbish you for saying take it to the track? I rubbished you for rubbishing others who haven't taken it...now re read your original post and tell me if that what you posted was aimed at you, you wouldn't take offence to it?? It is plain derogatory.
If you want to call me a hypacryt go for it....but sometimes in life Darren it isn't what you say it is how you are saying it...been in many a bar room brawl over smart ass comments regarding small matters...maybe this is one of those times where what you were trying to say got lost in the belittling way you said it. All that can be assumed is that if you are going to argue for the affirmative you need to have your own house in order...otherwise you may appear hypacrytical-as you insinuate I appear.:D

I think you will find that it might also have something to do with $$$ Invested .. I find that the more you spend on a car the less you feel like caning the crap out of it and risk killing it.
Which would you prefer?
1. I have not touched the engine internals (or have just a cam) and modified the trans. If I break the engine I can probably still get it fixed under warranty.
2. I have spent excess of $10k on mods internal and external .. I have no warranty. If I break it I am up for $10k+ to fix it.
As for going out and caning the life out of the car (basically what you do at the drags) I would far prefer option 1 than 2.

..... If ya prepared to throw stones at other LS1 owners in your Dyno comments, cope it sweet about the lack of skills dude. Its all a matter of opinion.
You seem to blow ya truppet about the drags and the MPH etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc ... and you'd go on even more about the MPH etc etc etc etc etc . :D
You dont want to respect the Dyno runners (In your words "Dyno Queens), leave it out of your posts, then maybe a few might respect your opinions of Drags.
The skill arguement is REAL aswell, circut drivers would be at a different level to those that run a straight line. Remember, its opinion.

... Between you and me Sidey, I agree. But Id be buggered agreeing with one whom calls others 'Dyno Queens' and base the performance around a MPH :D

BlownVN, I'm not sure where you coment stems.
Have a look at the quick list. You will see that 1 of the so called dyno queen blown cars is there and has the 4th or 5th highest MPH.
No the times arnt in the lower 11 club ( more a driver / traction issue) but to call them week or posers is a bit shallow dude.
