put the little 346 in Kim's ute last week...took it to the 'plex with me driving and netted a best of 11.50 but noticed how guttless the thing is compared to the stroker that came out. The difference through second gear was astounding to the point where I had to keep telling myself to wait for the shift light and you had to hit the shift spot on otherwise the thing fell under the power. Dyno shows it having 10 more rwkw than the 382" stroker at peak but 20 less at 5k rpm.... lucky we don't race dynos hey?
So threw some 4.11 in the rear and put the light weight driver in (if 100kg is light) and got an immediate result. the 60' is still lame as the pricks won't do any track prep on Wednesday nights so the thing just spins the tyres through 1st gear...1st gear ratio (10.19 with 4.11 rear) with the T400 doesn't help the equasion seeing as the little engine is a lot lamer in the mid range than what the stroker is...but whilst it is spinning the tyre in 1st...what does it matter.
here is the time card...

with a little more messing around and some good startline prep I reckon this thing has a 11.2 in it but I don't think at this time I will have time to chase it...but who knows?:D
Specs;
Ross pistons.10.0:1 CR
Std rods
SQP stage 2.5 heads-2.055"int. 1.6" exh. The heads are destined for a certain SC Monaro soon. ;)
SQP custom Comp Cam 238@.050" on 110 lsa-wish I'd put in on 112 to broaden up the power curve now.
YT roller rockers 1.7:1 ratio
SQP modified oil system
ARP fasteners throughout.
LS6 intake.
DF headers
Chipmaster mafless tune.
Same stall converter as before-flashes 4800rpm with the small motor.
Motor clocked up 40k on the pass after the 11.37...all done on the dyno and the strip....driven like it is stolen!!:D

Good result , shame about the track prep , would be interesting to see how it goes after a big meeting.
Disappointed I missed being at the track but loosing my luggage at the airport was nearly as much fun (NOT)

I'm surprised they lost your luggage Daniel as every time mine goes missing on the way back to Melbourne (it's happened a few times), they always tell me it's ended up in Perth!
Hope you get it back...

Top effort there guys .. it's good to see that there's lots of good stuff coming from the West as well as over East
It's always good to hear what works and what doesn't ... My cam on the 346 is a 112LSA so sounds like it was a wise choice seing you didn't like 110LSA on the 346 :D phew ..

Good work John and Co. Certainly shows what is possible with some hard work and a little thought. ;) It's a pity that travelling to another track with prep isn't really an option for you guys.

Top stuff HQ.
I am waiting to see a certain moderators "Spare" ;) car fly down that strip over there!!!!
Just on Doorslammers, I was watching Speedweek today and it had the Doorslammers on there from Willowbank. Was yours there? There was a Red older shape Monaro from WA there?
The Orange Camaro that won it looked real nice, and it was its first meeting I think they said.
