I am really FED UP with this forum.
I have complained about this before but nothing seems to happen.
I just spent 10 minutes typing a response to a comment when I clicked Submit I got the message I was not logged in.
Why does this stupid program time you out?
I haven't come across any other forums where this occurs. And yes I can go to clipboard or whatever and type a message and then import it but why should I have to?
OK I am a slow typist but so what? Do all responses have to be done in 30 seconds?:cussing:

Linear,
This is not good and I think on behalf of all the mods apologise for the inconvenience it is causing you.
I am unsure what is happening to your posts. I am not a computer boffin like some of the others but will try to offer some help.

Are you using your own computer? If you are then the security of your passwords is not so vital.
If this is the case, then go to the top of the screen and click on Profile then click on edit password. Now change your password to something else , obviously something you will remember. When that is all done go to the top of the screen and hit LOG OFF
Now go to Tools on Internet explorer then click Internet options Under the Temporary Internet files press Delete files This just cleans out some of the rubbish your computer picks up fron the internet.
Now go back to www.ls1.com.au and log on with your new password. A window may come up asking if you want to store this password. If it is your computer and you are happy for the computer to store your password for when you log on then click Yes remember password. Now hopefully after doing all this, it might cure your problems. Maybe try a test post?? i was typing a post for 30 to 40 minutes tonight and it worked ok so hopefully your problem can be resolved.

I'm not sure this is a forum issue Linear. I often spend more than 10 minutes on a response - and have had 30 minute breaks mid reply, and still be able to post without having being logged out.

I'd suggest it is possibly a browser related setting (security or cache), or more likely, settings on your work or ISP proxy server.

under edit options (in the forum) have you got the first two options on YES?

Automaitcally login
and
Browse board with cookies?

What you are experiencing sounds more like your browser settings. The webserver will not timeout your session after 30 seconds...

Thanks for the replies and thanks Motomk for the email.
I have got the cookies turned off so i only receive session cookies and I enable them, but of course don't have auto log on.
Also the problem only seems to occur when I take more then say 6 or 8 minutes to compose a posting, I don't seem to have problems with shorter say 2/3 minute posts.
Motomk I will give you suggestion a try tonight and see waht happens tomorrow night or when I log on next. Ta.

Before you hit send message on you r long test message tomorow...save a copy on Notepad or word so you don't lose it again.

I have found that even using the back button in explorer will still have all your text in the little window you type in.
