This thing, run after run is just the fastest LS1 I have ever seen in the country. Very tidy too! :)

Well done Rob!!!

Its amazing what you can do with a totally stock engine (no heads/cam), a single bolt on blower, and a Mafless Tune with positive pressure mapping technology. No smoke and mirrors, no rocket science, just good tuning. And as the mph clearly shows a whole heap more power and torque than any other supercharged LS1 in the country....bar none....which was exactly my point from about six months ago.

Congratulations Rob, and long may your record stand!

official numbers were.....11.42 @ 127.37 1.854 60'

was a rip snorter of a day......I am blown away by the mph of this thing now!!

And ithe following must be said.

I went into this meet expecting to break the motor all over, ya see to get it to not hit the limiter we bumped it up to 6500.....stock motor.....26.4" high tyre. The car ran 16 passes today, every change was at 6499 or as damn close as i could. Its still purrs!!

It is a credit to the tuner:bow: and for this I thank you!

I am now very confident that after todays beating the motor will do 50,000 kms.......

oh yeah cant forget nefew Micky fpr helping out on the day!

Martin all bullshit aside and jokes swept away I am stoked. Only my piss pour efforts of getting it out of the hole kept it from a 10.

Plan B....It did take me a while to click, thank you for you patience. Your wisdom in getting it to the ground is spot on. Yes I will put it all into practice, next time out!

Con at C and V in Sydney was doing 11.4s with only bolt ons and wet Nos and now he has cam heads and 9 inch diff.He is expecting to get 10s in the SV8 in Sydney when the new strip opens. But as there wont be any rubber on the strip I wonder how fast it will go.

Nos is for pussies. Get something thats on, making the grunt the whole time. Building 'street cars' that use Nos, and then comparing them to something like Robs is the result of taking too much......

http://users.senet.com.au/~dtech/acid.jpg It seems like you have been on this forum too long to appreciate any fast car. What's the difference how fast you can make it go which ever way you can?
The nos cars have bolt ons or standard engine which match a heavily modified car (which I have no problem with)To me I appreciate this more as it is drivable every day and when you need the power its there.
Seems you have been sniffing too many fumes...or maybe you have been on LSD forum instead of LS1 :flip2:

So C&V drive around the street with the bottle on all day right? Having the power there is what all motor and forced engines have, not bottle babies that need $100 of refill every 3 runs. If you cant or dont have the ability to make the power any other way then fine, NOS is the go. Most here have been around long enough to have grown out of it.

I asumed we were talking about racing on the drag strip.
Yes it is illegal on the streets and many guys cant afford a drag car and a street car.
Why has this become a big debate just because there is a bit of compatition around. You should be glad otherwise you will be stuck on the same 12 seconds being quick like when 14 seconds was for years.
Nos is changing also but ignorant people like you would not appreciate this.
This is a forum I assume that you can add your opinions on ,,,why do people like you have to abuse people for their opinion.Just because you think you are right doesn't mean that you are.
I don't care how a car has been built-hek I don't care if it uses water to run on if it gets a good time at the quarter.
Open your eyes and mind and you will see that there are many quick cars out there.
To Rob I'm sorry that is has come to this ,I am only giving my opinion but will not tolerate a closed mind or abuse

It was a great day I was out there for 5 to 6 hours, surprisingly the number of cars just kept increasing and increasing, there were some what near 20 cars awaiting scrutineering and I had my digital camera 'score' and got some quality photos of the engine bays and two or three of You and Brute burning the rubber up. I will put some of the photos up once i load them as they are just a little large at the moment for uploading.

A great day overall I was impressed with 'LS1EDIT' one tonner breaking the 13's and getting a 12.85 very impressive.

SV8VY, No probs mate if thats what your into...good on ya!

as for legal daily streeter.......only a rear resi would be needed to get me through......

Yeah Rhys 10 second daily streeter is the aim now. The car is and always will be a true daily commuter.....1200kms a week in fact.....Find some of the comparisons amusing but hey.......I'm past it!

I have a totally streetable 127mph car, more than capable of running high tens with a simple tyre and spring swap. A few people have expressed there opinions on this and while I take it on board.......Do you see any sort of motor sport use the same set up for every event? No....so why do people have a problem with a car like mine needing the set up to be tuned to a particular evant? ie Drag racing.

I drive the fricking wheels of this car all week, swapped front and rear springs/shocks drove to the drags put slicks and front runners on, took the zorst of from the cats back ran 16 passes, swapped wheels put zorst on again ....drove away. Period!

Washed it with high pressure cleaner on the way home. Got home picked up the wife and went to a christmas function in it......got home 2am. Sunday the whole family in the car and of to another christmas function.........then I have to read crap like this about a true streeter or the like......I have done what I wanted.....if you like it good if you dont ....good, yes it is a forum!

Show me another drag strip monster that see's the kays my car does and you will be showing me another person dedicated to a goal, not a knoker or a whinger:cheers:

to all of the positive people out there....thank you, its bean a blast!

BlownCV8

V8Brute, , it aint the MPH anymore, it has plenty!

Its now up to fine tunimg the suspension and my driving.....out of the hole mainly......

The mind does boggle though, if i get the 60' down to the low 1.6's it should give me an even higher MPH at the end of the track so....a 128 /129 will show itself I believe. Time will tell.

Great effort Rob and killer package, it seems we both have the same goals just differant means. pity some people have to knock others that do well, sometimes for there own financial gains, its enough to make you loose all respect.

My car is currently for sale to buy into G&D, id like to think i can get it to the track again before it goes just to see what it will run with a bit further development... and to satisfy Tuna's internal mind games.

Top stuff and keep going.

Now Matt, who has been knocking you in here? And whose playing mind games? Runs on the board is no smoke and mirrors claim my friend! Who had to bag the Vortech kit for their own financial gain when they knew NOTHING of it? Whose head cam huge blower 444rwkw weapon has just been cleaned up by a 380rwkw stocker?

Winners are grinners Matt, and thats what breeds competition. When you come back and beat Robs time, then we try harder. Balls in your court mate. Like that famous line in the Good The Bad and the Ugly "If you gonna shoot, shoot. Dont talk". Now leave this thread alone, its Robs.

Once again Martin try and pick a fight  .. I said and I quote it did 80,000kms without a tune in it before it blew. Do you have a problem with missing the obvious ???

As for owning edit yes it should have been tuned earlier, no I am not a Tuner and I was waiting for the mods to be done before I paid for a tune. In hindsight and we are all experts in hindsight aren't we I should have had it tuned as soon as possible.

Rob: I did 80,000 hard kms with the blower on and had (for the retarded, aka. tuna, I will state it again) NO TUNE in it. You will probably do well over that many kms with it tuned but I would expect it to let go eventually as they;re not built for FI and IMHO it's always a matter of time before something gives when making that kind of power. You're right where I wanted to be but due to other commitments and circumstances I have not been able to pursue my goal as vigorously as I had hoped to :( My hat off to you Rob :)

I did have someone elses blown tune in there yes but it still was not 100% and there was detonation now and then depending on the activity. I still believe that the motor in stock form won't last without proper build for FI when making these kinds of power figures.

Two things kill engines - RPM and Detonation. If you keep the rev limit stock, which puts a lid of massive inertial load, and tune thing properly without detonation, then 400+ rwkw is available from a stock LS1, no problem.

Dont think that forged pistons are the answer, all they do is live slightly longer under the existing detonation load. Its all in the tune. Tell me though Sidey, are you going to use a MAF with this setup?

If you want to tune it properly without risking the engine, then send me over a blank PCM, and I will hex the ppm coding into it. Once thats done, come over and we will tune it up on the dyno, mafless, derestricted, and get you your power. Should take, like, two hours, and five dyno runs. Thats what experience with these Vortech things does for you!

Of course I will swap the tune for forum sponsorship :hide:

Tuna: I am getting rid of the MAF and have already bought a chipmaster PCM and tuning just have to wait for Dan to come over again :) The stock MAF couldn't handle the airflow I was getting previously and was exceeding the maximum of 12000Hz output and flatlining.

I've modified my blow off system and it makes things alot easier for me to delete the MAF all together as well. Horses for courses :D
