Has anyone else heard about Ben Brays new drag car. Dad was saying he read in a Drag Racing magazine that supercheap auto is sponsoring him as well as holden, who have realised lots of people are interested in the drags, and that he will be racing in a monaro.

not sure that the monaros look that good as a TD they seem to short

but the link in with Holden is interesting may motivate a few more big corporates to bring in some dollars

i read @ dragster that there is a BA TD being built as well

 Hows the save in the blue Torana

He just clipped the wall at the end which looked like it was going to be a massive crash:shiner:

That is one HUGE donk hangin' out the bonnet. :p

Make's me wonder what the aerodynamics are like with a beast like this at 130mph down a straight. :)

Good question for a new thread.

Those monaros look fantastic ! The yellow one particularly!
It's been so long since there has been decent drag racing down this way I haven't seen any of the new cars.
Edit: looked at the slow mo video ...amazing how much the whole body flexes when they get tyre shake

It was supposed to be ready for the start of the 2003 season to go with the launch of Ford coming on board as a major sponser of Motorplex here in perth, it never happened and has been put on hold. The driver/owner is a well known local guy but was all kept hush hush.

My clue is....he runs a local business....
and ALL i can say he is a FAST driver who uses a TORQUE CONVERTER. ;)

Mustn't be the only BA then. I have seen one being fabricated up here. The owner has a Ford Big Block in between the struts. This reason for the Ford block was helped by Ford's williness to supply the readies and a shell.
