Finally got myself an LS1 and was curious as to what a reasonable quarter mile time would be for a completley stock VT II Gen III Berlina.
Cheers Scott.

Yeah 14.172@98.25mph, I was stoked but too nervous to go for another run as I didn't want to go slower:o , just wondering if the car is a freak and if it possibly had a real high 13 in it, should have just swallowed my pride and done another run I suppose:doh: .

Generally in drag racing circles you need to get your "fast" time at least TWICE to prove that it wasn't due to some sort of trap/timing error.

Having said that I would have thought 14.5 was about all you would get out of a stock VTII Berlina, but maybe after a few miles they loosen up and make more power than when they were tested out of the box! Or maybe you are lucky and have a quicker than average one! Sure it is completely stock? No air box/intake mods? Edit?? :-)

Cheers,

Beej

Definitely stock, the car has just clocked 90k, my first pass was a 14.5, followed by two 14.8's, the car seemed to bog down a bit off the line on the first 3 passes, on the final run I stalled it up and did the 14.1.

What did you stall it up to?

What 60ft time? Good mph for a stock auto berlina.

our vt did a 13.9 with only a catback system when we first got it.
13.5's with a maf tune and full exhaust
to get into the high 12's a mafless tune, 3.73 gears, cold air and starr throttle body.
out of the box you have got one of the faster ones. so let the mods begin. you now can appeciate power and economy of the gen 111 engines, and these both get better with the mods.

Thanks guys, I am really loving this car, so smooth and yet still plenty of grunt, makes the old VN look a bit sad really, as you say let the mods begin.
