seeing as the changes in the forum lately which is a good idea have the mods thought about going through the member listings and delating the one that have not posted for over a year or so, wouldnt this be taking up space on yuour server?

Just been wondering about it for a while(no work means heaps of time on the forum) and seeing as the changes thought i might post this question.

i dont think server space is really an issue. If it became one LS1.com.au has been offered free unlimited space on a server plus unlimited bandwidth so its never really going to be an issue.

The pruning of inactive accounts is done on a regular basis, as is the pruning of threads in each forum. It has already been run recently. Maintenance such as this is not an issue of server space per say, but one of keeping the databases smaller so as to maximise speed.
The recent "changes" you refer to are also not an issue of server space, since the non-technical threads are still in there.... they haven't been deleted.... they just don't count toward post counts anymore.

About a year ago ( I'm terrible with remembering timing) all forum members email addresses were validated, those email addresses that bounced had the account deleted, so its worthwhile keeping your profile up to date as well.
This forum is a lot faster to use than some others out there, so the admin and mods are doing something right:D
