Currently seeing who is out there to start a club for the above. This club's intention will not be to take members away from The Australian LS1 Forums as most members here have gain something from there membership.

Just trying to find who is around and get together to organize social gatherings with fellow owners.

Thanks

Peter

Would be interested for FNQ, because Moranbah is not exactly NQ. CAPHSV is the president for the capricornia region, perhaps you should hook up with those members.

Cheers.......Darrel

YIIR8,

It would be hard for us to try and attend functions from the Cap HSV Club. Even if we lived in Moranbah, it is still about 5 hours drive to Rocky.

We would mainly base the club in Mackay, it is fairly central and there are quite a few LS1's getting round in here as well as HSV's.

SICK SS has replied and he is in the same position as me, only works in Moranbah but lives in Mackay any other time.

If you are still keen Awesome!! I have managed to hook up two mates of mine as well, a VYII Clubby and a VYI Maloo.

Maybe we could get Mackay Police with there VY SS's!!!:hide:

Hubble80, let me know how you get on with this, unless a club starts up for FNQ, would be keen to check out one from your way, like you say, it's a bit closer to Tville than Gladstone/Rocky.
Have a few mates with ls1's that might be keen as well, but am gonna see if they'd like to join ls1.com.au first, get a few more members happening up this way, sh*t loads of ls1's floating around.

Cheers..........Darrel:thumbsup:

Don't let this thread die, we need something to happen up this way. If nothing eventuates in FNQ I would consider a meet or two in the Mackay area, it's a little closer than Brisbane & Rocky.

With so many nice commodores getting around in FNQ it's hard to believe there is not more interest in this thread. Keep us posted with any news on this.

Cheers:cheers:

Pete,
Made any headway on this yet??Do you reckon it might pay to do a few flyers up, anyone interested in starting a HSV/LS1 club for cruises, etc. If you wanted to start a "proper" incorporated type club, there's a sh*t load of paperwork to file I've heard/read. Don't know which way you would want to approach this.

Cheers.............Darrel.

If anyone has any idea of what paperwork is involved and/or why we need it and where to get it, please let me know. I have had a fair bit of interest on this.

PS

I want everyone to know that there will be a cost involved for membership. It will not be very big, just to cover some costs, but obviously the more people who join the lower the costs.

Thanks.

Might I suggest that you contact caphsv and or LYTNING, they would be up to speed on the admin side of things.

Fairly confident that the costs would be minimal just to kick things off. Let us know how you get on.

Why not organise a meet/cruise to get an idea on number of people interested. It would also be a good opportunity for non validated members to get validated. I would be prepared to travel a few hundred kilometres for a Saturday arvo meet somewhere central to all involved. Maybe Airlie beach???

We've got to get the ball rolling on this, I'm sure there are enough interested people to set aside one afternoon in the weekend, also could throw about a few ideas for the upcoming club.

A few beers, validation & an LS1 club in Nth Qld, sounds good.

Nope, that one at Tony Irelands is not mine, I got mine shipped up from Melbourne with short shift and oil/volts gauges - and I work at a mine site M-F so you'll only see me on the weekends! I'll get some pics happening this weekend.

Yeah black will be a bugger to keep klean/scratchless but the wife wanted silver and I wanted red so we settled on black.... if that makes sense....

Noticed the black one at Irelands is back tonight. A case of mistaken identity, but it had disappeared for the last week or so.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, nothing looks better than a clean black car, but they never stay that way for very long.

By the way a few of us are heading out to the strip to watch the wild bunch on Saturday night if your interested. Come along and give us a look at the new toy. Car club meet coming up soon too.

Hello out there. I see that you are looking at starting a club up in the 'Mackay area'.. maybe. Just wanted to let the chaps from further north know that there is already a club in Townsville (for those who were not aware). The HSVLS1 club, and we meet every 2nd Tuesday night for a chat and a cruize. At the last couple of meets we have had around 14 - 17 cars but i believe that there is around 30 members/guests at present.

If you need more info just contact Mick (el presidenti) at the aitkenvale Autobarn on Ross River Rd between Tuesdy to Saturday.

We will be meeting again in 2 weeks time at Joyce Mayne carpark at 8:30pm Tuesday night to chat about all sorts of things, including our next daytime run which is currently locked in for 1 Oct 06 to go to Bowen for a good blast and barbeque.:yup:

Excellent to see it's still going, the original "founding" members still frequent this forum, they would be happy as well. :yup:

As gaz vyss has mention the club is still going, it has been very quiet for a bit over a year as a few of the "founding" members have left for different parts of Australia or sold their HSV's / LS1's but we are back in business with over 30 active members.

Last Sunday we had a great turn out for the Peter Brock Cruise with over a 100 cars & bikes attending, we got our mugs on T.V. and the newspaper in a good way, as no idiots were tolerated on the cruise.

We are planning a club cruise on the 1st October to either Bowen or Burdekin Dam.

For anyone that is interested the web site is now http://nqhsvls-1.com.au we meet every 2nd Tuesday night at 9pm at Joyce Maine's, there is a meet tomorrow night.

This photo was taken from last year's cruise to the Burdekin Dam:
