FUNK,
98 RON fuel at Toowoomba and Darwin. Nowhere in between except maybe Katherine but I dont think so.
How big is your tank;) 95RON fuel at Roma, Augathella, Blackall. Barcaldine, Longreach, Winton, Longreach, Cloncurry, Mt Isa, Three Ways, Katherine, cant remember, cant remember and Darwin. Check the fuel company websites. Definitely take a couple of bottles of octane booster. Roads are fine all the way. If you are lowered, keep an eye out for dead roos on the road as they are a bit hard to dodge when there is a triple road train coming the other way. Also, dont discount the idea of running helium in your tyres in NT as the roads are hot and the speed limits are pleasing and this adds up to hot tyres and blowouts.
MOST IMPORTANTLY beware of the beer in Darwin, VB and Melbourne bitter. It causes grown men to do things they normally wouldnt, and although you wont remember, there is always someone else who will remind you the next day, next week, next year.........

Have fun and stay safe

I haven't been over to Mt Isa for a few years but last time I went the roads were a goat track. Very bumpy and VERY narrow. The NT roads are good all the way. Just be very careful of the wildlife. I've seen a few nice cars damaged by the odd roo.

The open speed limits are fun though :burnout:

I'll definately be going to the supercars, as I do every year. The car park it a bit dusty and they put oil down on the roads. Some of the parking is pretty bumpy. I've had to tell a few parking attendants there is no way I was going to through that ditch :-)

I normally leave the car at home and catch the free bus or get a lift.

Definately a good weekend, lots of entertainment, just watch the sun and the heat.

PS, the corporate passes are a good idea if you have the spare $200-300. Nice shady spot, cool drinks and food on Sunday.

Hey FUNK,
I just did a round trip Toowoomba, to the Coast, up to Mackay, across to Barcaldine and home. Fuel supply was 95 at the very best. The ute handled the fuel no worries just no revving over 5 grand or ping city. Was extremely hot also.
You are cruising most of the way so no worries. The ute was full of clothes, beding and presents all of the way and the towbar and rear exhaust outlets are a little flatter than when I started :D but that happens around town as well. Roads were good with the worst stretch being Oakey- Dalby.
