I visited the paint shop yesterday to see how the car is coming along. I'm really starting to like it.

Hi Pete,
Do these guys do normal cars? I'm just asking cause I need someone to respray my front guards and bonnet and I would like a good job and these guys look like artists. I understand I may not be able to afford them or they may not want to work on normal stuff but if they do would you be able to pass on their details please.
Cheers,
Greg

When will this car make its debut launch?

More importantly where? Cape Canaveral using NASA's platform???

Sure I am.... Please don't tell anyone though! :)

Thanks for the encouragement guys. The final weight is not known until it’s finished. But wow I took some weight out of it. Anything under 3000lb’s would be nice. The car is not meant to be a light weight at this stage, because I still warm towards the street look. The interior will reflect this when it’s finished. As Jani (10’s Easy) will tell you, it takes some ANDRA approval getting to build a car like this without the roll cage coming out of the back window.

The completion date should be soon enough. The engine is taking some serious time to build. For some of you who have spoken to me about the engine….. I have had 4 sets of pistons thrown at me now since November. Hopefully, this time for sure. I must say, the company is great to deal with though! Set number 5 should be here within a week. I will start a thread about all this when I get the time.

As one yank said to me on the phone last week; “Mention 1,000 HP to any LS1 component manufacturer and watch what they do. It’s like turning on the lights with a room full of ****roaches. Those little suckers will run for cover quicker than you can focus on them” :)

All good fun!

Yes they do. But it is a bit of a process. I am up to my 3rd interview and he still hasnt decided whether he will paint my car!! This guy has so much work it is unbelievable. He can pick and choose anything he wants.

The paint work on the Planb Machine is awsome. The photo of the graphics is awsome. The photos dont do it justice.

Planb and Madls1. You blokes are phsyco's! Both cars are looking the goods.

Cheers

Top stuff Pete, thats a great looking ute!

When you come to setting the 4-link up for going down the track if you dont have any assistance from the guys up there give me a call and i will guide you through setting it up for your requirements. (Ie, power, trans, weight split etc, etc.) I have some good documentation and well as a CAD package i designed to assist in designing the geometry for getting the power to the track.

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh!

Darren

hows that motor going ? the last set of pistons mentioned work out ?

chuck your old motor or a lessor motor in just to test out the chassis. i couldn't wait this long to test it out. the old motor in this would have to be quicker than before all the chassis changes
