Hey guys,
Just got back from Sams and wanted to share with yuz my impressions. Initial gains were a little dissapointing on paper but in reality on the road its a whole lot different.
Living in Alice Springs I was never able to get an initial stock dyno reading but it went to Sams this morning with a cat back 2 1/2 zorst, Pacie Tri Ys, MCAI and K&N. First reading witout edit was 186rwkw and after Maffless edit 202rwkw. Now ive heard of much higher gains on this forum but as Sam explained to me "you will notice it on the road". That is certainly the case and what im most impressed about is the massive improvement in throttle response.
Money well spent.

Well done, Congratulations and welcome to the Mafless clan.
Nice to hear an opinion based on driveability instead of WOT readings on a dyno.
Read many a post on these pages regarding the Maff vs Maffless edits and was not sure which way to go at first, but I definitely do not regret chosing the later. I dont want to start any further "discussions" in the debate but IMHO the difference is very noticible especialy as its no longer a dog low in the rev range.
Bring on the dif ratios.

It's all in the torque curve.
Jman,
if you have your dyno sheets....
Work out the torque at 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500 etc to 6000.
So you have seven torque readings (or eight if the graph starts at 2500 reliably).
Then add the 7(8) readings together to get a total, and divide by the number of readings.
That is your average torque.
Do the "after" graph the same way and see the difference.
That is what it's about.

I once posted a pic with a sponge taped to the go peddle and called it a maff tune. The thread got locked real fast. :) Glad you’re happy with the sponge-less tune. :)
