im not real handy with the use of computer programs so go easy on me :stupid:
I need a little help with reducing the size/quality of a picture via microsoft paint or Arcsoft photo impression, ive tied to post a pic but when i do, it takes too long to download, so im GUESSING that the quality is too good or the size is too big or both, hence my question.

Try right click, send to, mail precipitant and an option will pop up to make the pic smaller. Then save it back again off the mail form. That’s all I do now, thanks to Justice. :)

also in ms paint you could use Image->Strech/Skew, and reduce using say 50% horizontal 50% vertical or whatever

Paint is very limited and will produce very average results!
Arcsoft photo impression should be OK, but I have never used it. It should be as simple as load image, select image menu, then resize.
If it is the size and options that you need help with, check the tickbox to "maintain aspect ratio" (if it has one) and change the width to no more than 640pixels, this should not be too big and would fit on almost all monitors. Choose .JPG compression also (much smaller file size).
I think the email /resize is a Windows XP thing, never used that, but should work OK though.
I use Paint Shop Pro (http://www.jasc.com/products/trialreg.asp?pid=K-PSP8-USDIR) or ACDsee (http://www.acdsystems.com/english/Products/ACDSee/ACDSee-Download?CMP=ILC-HomeLeftProdCentric1&CRA=ENfreetrial). Both of these link to the trial versions, but I think they expire in 30 days or something.
PM me if you would like more specific help.
Jeff.
