Such as a dedicated joke / sendup section
Also section to recomend suppliers or those that work on our cars or where to get a good deal on things
and contra to that a section on those places that are to be avoided and those that might rip you of
Seems to work on other forums

Not a bad idea, but when you think about it, some people will have a good experiance with a supplier and some people may not!
Its just like buying a car that was built on a Friday!
We don't really want to use this place to advertise as well. :)

In regards to the suppliers/workshop part, how about a thread that has all the contact details of the places people have used and the services they provide, a bit like the LS1 whitepages if you like, would be just an info only thread that you use at your own discretion ;)

Yeah everyone has different opinions and experiences of different places, it will end up in shit fights :)

I was thinking more along the lines of just having a company name and their phone number for instance and make it a locked thread for viewing only, it saves unnecessary posting and trying to contact others for this info, no need for any :box:
You could take it another step up and have paid adverts like LS1.COM with rotating banners and stuff :hide: :D

I was replying to the recommendation previous experience bit Rohan.
I think we could have a locked thread with contact details :)

Is it possible to list the subbliers / workshops details, and also have a rating system??
For example something like...
ABC Automotive.
123 Smith St Smithville
(02) 9876 5432
Rate...
1 - Highly Recommended
2 - Recommended
3 - Nuetral
4 - Not recommended
5 - Strong Not recommended.
Just an idea....

It will to hard hard to rate places as everyone will have different opinions!
It will cause to much drama!

Just have a locked thread with Name, Address, Phone and list services they can provide. No ratings or comments.... just the facts.

I don't mind looking after it. Think of a format that will be satisfactory....It would be locked of course.

To continue on the theme of having information threads, how about one that has the most commonly asked part numbers on it as well, for example:
Munro CAI
Iridium Plugs
K&N Filter
etc, etc
