253 V8, mid-mounted. The windscreen and roof hinge upwards and forwards for entry. Other sci-fi features are the rear-view TV camera, and the oil-cooled front disc brakes. The Hurricane is 39" tall. Not a bad concept car for 69 and Holden

I reckon it wouldn't look dated if they released it today.

They should try and build it on a commodore/vectra floor pan and produce a limited run.

Wasn't there another concept as well? A GTX or somthing?

Ahhh :) GTR-X.
I knew it was somthing like that. That is a car I could have fun in I reckin.
How does Holden manage to come up with such awesome designs? Sure, these ones didn't actually come off, but you can see what they can do with concepts - Monaro anyone...

I guess in those days they were borrowing heavily from the sketch pads in U.S. and nothing wrong with that.

Where is that Hurricane on display now? I visited the Birdwood, SA national motor museum and was disapointed that there was no GTR-X or Hurricane.

So.... I wonder what the FPV Territory will be called????

The Holden museum in Echuca had the Hurricane on display for awhile, but I think Holden took it back for a thorough refurbishment.
