appears to be a water cooled intercooler.
Changing the plugs just got a whole lot more annoying...

yeah, but is it more effective than the running the pipe along the length behind the bumper? are those watercooled or just air ? what better.

water aftercooler
see they are reusing the capa design
given what they are used to with the engine in the cowl, I dont think the plugs will be an issue

Thats Vortechs kit, adapted from the basic CAPA kit. Why the water to air intercooler? It comes down to the fact that Vortech are commited to using this technology for a number of reasons. No, its not a patch on the air to air system that we have in place over here. Doesnt look as good, or cool as good, nor then, go as good.

nothing looks meaner then a front mount air to air cooler... especially when you know its backed up by 8 pots

it will be at the end of the induction pipe same as the capa design
as far as the committment to the technology wasnt one of the big reasons because of a dispute with procharger on the benefits of intercooling ? or something similar

Is there any benifit in keeping the intake piping( not diameter but lenghth) or volume as small as possible? Would that have a effect on throttle response?

Martin,
Know where you can get the intake pipe that wraps around the charger, it's a tight fit there and this pipe looks like it might solve one of my problems :)

I would suspect it might, not sure on how big that difference would be ?

I recon it would take all of 10 minutes to swing the cooler out the way.
Looks like a well thought out solution to me.
