Spent a relaxing day in Melbourne yesterday at Robs and Ian shop. Rob had kindly offered to do some back to back testing with a modified intake and a FAST intake.
We had been struggling with the LS6 intake on a 427 as it couldnt flow enough air and after 5500 rpm just fell off dramatically.
There was certainly some good gains with the modified LS6 manifold and apparently on a 346 ci motor it works well.
But to our suprise when we bolted on the FAST 90 mm manifold the gains were from 306rwkw to 332 rwkw (this is an auto) but on top of that it increased power substainially across the curve including the TQ (not as if I didnt have enough already) Best part is it is still making power to 6400 rpm.
So the question was asked put it back to stock or what, no chance leave that FAST manifold and TB on baby.
Rob might post the before and after I cant at moment.
I was totally impressed with HPF it is a very professional and well setup business I havent seen many in this industry any better than how they do business.
I would like to thank Marty, Rob and Ian for all there help yesterday and good one to Nathan for getting into the 10s.
