I think the VY already has the MCAI (Monaro Cold Air Intake) ...

IMO it came out with a good one. I put it on my VX and modded it to utilise both of the holes in the airbox. It works a treat. With this CAI and a full exhaust upgrade and LS1 edit (retaining standard MAF and T/B) I have 228 RWKW

Yep, it is. And ig its not the best, its the best BFYB, especially as you already have one in a VY. Some here have the SS unit and the MCAI mated together using one hole each i think.

Oh OK thankyou very much

The best setup would be a VYII HSV airbox. The MCAI lets to much hot air in! Still unbeatable for BFYB though but just not the ideal setup.

Yeah the ideal setup (if thats possible) would have a MAF pipe abot 2" long and an intake/filter assembly right above the radiator. Alas we (currently) are stuck with our airbox shoved in the corner of the engine bay.
