Hi
I am interested in your experiences or what you have seen in relation to cryogenicly treated
engine component or anything mechanical that has been put through the process as I am doing
some research into wether it is a viable area to expand my business into.
Thanks in advance COBRALS1
For the purposes of say, taking your ride off blocks on 80 years time and seeing how it goes??? ;)

I dont think its widely used on the street level, I have looked at a few web sites detailing the process & its plus, I have seen references to Race team using it on rotors to get longer life & a few other engine parts,
but never seen any of the costs associated with it, most of us are small timers,
If you can show the benefits for us on the street level & supply the service at a perceived good price, price vs benefit, then i think you'll find some interest.
Quick turn around time on parts is also going to be a factor, as many here the LS1 is their everyday ride.

I'll PM you an email address of someone who is doing it in Auckland. From my experience it is very good, especially on gear sets.

I have a mate who has recently done a comprehensive rebuild of his engine. He got the block Cryo-treated. Cost was ok and turn around time was quick. Cannot tell you about any long term benifits or anything at this stage as the car is just run in. I think he plans the power tune of the Autronic early next year.

Cryogenic treatment works on many different applications including automotive everthing from engines, gearboxs rotors etc with great results.

I always have my brakes cryo treated, pads and rotors. Increased the lifespan of the pads and rotors by 300% and the loss of braking force would be 10% at most!

What was the rough cost Sidey? PM me if need be. Still sorting out the brakes upgrade so if it's not too much of a hit in the pocket, I might get this done too.

The price varies depending on the weight of the discs and pads. From Memory the Pads were around $50 for the front set and the front 330mm discs were around $250 for the set.
I am getting new pads and rotors in a week or so and can elaborate more once I get the invoice. :)
