Here goes.
Part 1:
I had the centre muffler removed and had twin pipes made up with flanges that can bolt straight in. $150.00 (this has its own thread)
I installed a 2nd homemade intake to the existing air box. $30ish(this has its own thread)
I also installed a BMC air filter.$170ish (numerous threads on this)

I'm not sure what the dyno read on this would have been. I do know that a stock XR6Turbo is supposed to run 14.6 for the 1/4 mile (i know there are variations but i read that this is the average figure) and i had a best with just these mods of 14.02@99mph.
Total cost of Part 1 = $350.00

Part 2:

I had the Xede piggyback cpu installed. It was installed at Chiptorque's Melbourne distributor Amberley Auto's in Dandenong. They are great and very helpful. They also listen to what you want and tune the car to your requests. This gave me 233.3rwkw's. They tested the car with my Geea stage 1 mods and it gave a reading of 196rwkw's so a gain of 37rwkw's with just the chip was good i thought. Some people claim more rwkw's with different mods, all dynos are different. I ran a 13.322 @ 105.37mph at Calder i have another 13.3 aswell so i'm happy with this. This cost $1095 for the Xede, $355 for tuning and $145 GST for a grand total of $1595. The car is now running 8psi. The only slight problem i have is when the air is cool and the car is cold it can hit the boost cut out until it heats up a bit. I was told that i could turn the boost down a touch or just be aware of it till it heats up. It only happens during the first 10 minutes or so from start up so i left it at 8psi. This happens because the injectors are at their capacity.

Total costs of Part 1&2 is $1945.00 I'm very happy sofar.

Part 2A: Auto upgrade. (this has its own thread)

Kewish Automotive
97932220

Remove Automatic Transmission
Modify Valve Body
Modify Pump Regulator Valve
Reset Clutches - Band Replace (Hi-Torque)
Fit Large Cooler
Assemble and Top up with Oil.
Total inc GST $1690.00

It took 2 1/2 days. During the rebuild they had it back together then tested it and said that it was changing to hard they then did some more work to the valve body to make it a bit less harsh.
The auto is awesome. Its a bit clunky when in auto and under very little throttle. When using 1/4 throttle or more its amazing and maual mode is like a clutchless manual.

Total costs so far:
Parts 1&2 $1945
Part 2A $1690

Now the good stuff.
Part 3:

Tuesday i dropped the car off and picked it up just after lunch today. (1 1/2 Days)
I had 6x Bosch fuel injectors (part no. 0280155968) installed $979.20
I also had a new fuel pump installed $398.00
Labour was $350.00
GST $172.72

Total $1899.92

I wasn't sure about the fuel pump, Ian said the old one is capable but it could deteriorate and cause problems in the future, so i got it as insurance. The injectors are out of a Volvo v70Rawd, i could have gotten the injectors a bit cheaper through friends but it would have taken a few months and i couldn't wait. They have the same housing and connections as the standard Ford injector with a bigger flow.
The car was then retuned on the dyno. Ian said he could have gotten another 5-10rwkw's but that it wopuld have caused heat problems with the standard intercooler. The car now has 255.5rwkw's an improvemant of 22.2rwkw's. This was also on a hot day (32C) so it could be good for an extra 5 or so rwkw's on a cool day.
I have been told that it is roughly 345fwkw's. This isn't exact so dont flame me

Total cost of Geea's mods
Parts 1-2-3 = $3845.00 For 255.5rwkw's
Part 2A (auto mods) = $1690.00 For a very solid and fast changing auto.

The car is amazing to drive it drives like a family 6cylinder in traffic. When you put your foot down it doesn't stop pulling, it keeps you pinned to the seat till you take your foot off the accelerator. Ian said it should be good for around 12.7ish. He told me after the chip it should do 13.5- 13.6 and i got 13.3 so i'll have to see.

Initially after picking the car up i was immediately thinking about a bigger intercooler and 12-13psi of boost. After driving round in it for a few hours i dont think i'm going to change anything, its awesome. Time may change this veiw, we'll have to wait and see.

If anyone has any question ask away and if your in Melbourne let me know and if possible we can catch up.

Part 4 Hi/Lo Switch with Hi boost map

The original tune was 9psi running up to 10psi and achived 255.5 rwkw's. This was altered to be 10psi all the time and is great.
The performance tune is at 12psi and achieves 270.4rwkw's, its awesome.
The switch cost $13.00 and the tune involved a few hours on the dyno.

270.4rwkw's 12.697 @ 111.80mph.

Sounds like a nice ride mate, great value for money there, and a good time for street tyres.

Thanks Drewbytes.
Parts 2-3 and 4 were all done at the HorsePowere Factory. If the work they do on the LS1 is nearly as good as what they have done with my car its sure to be good. I've been driving for 20 years and never had a car that performs like this one.

Great bang for buck there. If I was considering buying a Ford, there's no way I'd consider their V8s atm. I would most definitely get an XR6T because they have a lot more potential and much more rewarding to drive.

Great stuff, geea! :)

I think it would be a great idea. I'm not sure if there are any/many modified "T's" up there yet. Most of the quick ones are in Melbourne i think with a few in Sydney and Adelaide.
There are bound to be a few though. If you were to do a post asking if there was any interest it may lead to a possible meet at the local strip. I'd love to see the results. what is the local strip in Brisvegus?

Thanks for the post geea, nice and detailed, I have handed the info on, to a member of the Turbo Pack at work!!!! He is very interested in the mods!!!

Damn its only money........"motomk wanders off to get a Supercharger!!!!!!!!";)

Thanks Momomk. At Heathcote the car felt as if it was fighting itself in the higher revs. After getting home i studied the dyno and found that in the performance tune the peak power (270ish rwkw's) was between 4000-5000rpm and that after about 5100rpm the power dropped off. I think this is because of the factory intercooler. I feel that next time i go to the track if i change manually at 5000rpm i shopuld be able to lower my time and increase the mph by good margins. I wont be able to find out till mid June as i have to work the next few Friday nights. The waits going to kill me.
(i'll try figure out how to post the dyno if i can.)

Now thats a great effort!

Thanks for all the info, My brothers got an Xr6T and i've been searching around for some good info to pass on to him as he is interested to see what his cars potential actually is, I was set on my next car being an LS1 but this thread has got me thinking :bash:

Just 1 question, was the auto modifications definetly needed? Or have they been known to get through in the past?

Well done on the power and time, and good luck! :burnout:

Hi SSHMIK, thanks for the generous words. Regarding the auto mods. Alot are doing it cheaper by just increasing the line preasure in the valve body. APS do this for $600 and nodoubt other auto places will do it aswell. I'm not sure how long just doing the valve body will last or what power levels it will cope with. I wanted it as strong as possible and i'm happy with the results. I think if you get anything more than just a chip (225-230rwkw's) you would probably need to do something to the auto. That being said i know of one guy on the "T" forum that has similar mods to me (255rwkw's)with the standard auto, plus trans cooler. He doesn't drag or drive to hard and says its holding up well.
If you or your brother have any more questions please ask.

$600 for increasing line pressure? Seems very expensive. Then again APS isnt exactly famous for being cheap and selling quality items (especially to LS1 owners)

Nice results Geea. When the intercooler mod happening?

I agree with the price for increasing the line preasure's. When i was doing some research on it i got told it should be a $200-$300 job. $600 is a bit rich.

I have been thinking about the intercooler, if i do any more than think about it at the moment i'll be in hospital having my balls reattached, (after the missus has removed them). Amberley are doing some reseaerch into the intercoolers as we speak and it should be great.
I'm also looking at a water spray on the intercooler. This could be fired by the Xede at a certain point in the tuning map. I would probably only have it working on my performance tune. I will have to talk to the guys at Amberley and get their thoughts on which path would suit me better.

Calder was good Friday night. I had a new PB of 12.54 and a new PB top speed of 112.05mph. All up I had 5 runs and all were 12.69 or better.
The car ran the following times for the night.
12.675@109.82
12.542@111.33
12.640@110.90
12.670@????
12.698@112.05
There were no 60' times given on the night which was dissapointing.
I got to the track late due to a busy day and the car never really cooled down properly. Hopefully next week with a bit more time to cool down the car can run sub 12.5

Good write-up geea, and nice resaults! Looking at the power graph and the speed along the bottom, at 112mph/180kph power is dropping off badly before the end of the track so theres more left in the top end if the intercooler issues are sorted or you had some taller diff gears.

Whats wrong with Calder these days. Last week when i went, none of the display timers were working. Whats the use to spectate if we can't see the times!!

I agree its not very professional. Last Friday (11/6) there were no 60' times and on a few runs the mph in one of the lanes was playing up. These were problems with print outs. The left hand board was totally useless too. Hopefully they can get their act together.
