My SS looks fine in black. Try polishing/changing the mags, lowering it even more (do it properly that is...), tint the glass. If you put pin stripes or any stripes on it for that matter you will be banished to the "you know you're a riceboy if..." thread forever; DON'T DO IT!!! :kapow:

How about getting the doormoulds, with the neat chrome strip, from a Calais?
i reckon that would look pretty good. Better than any after-market pin-striping anyway

Thanks guys, I think tinted windows and polished wheels might be the go, Im trying to get away from the family car look, I would have rather had an hsv but wanted to get near new. and hsv was abit out of price range....CHEERS

You could add some crome highlights from the Berlina/Calais and maybe the crome door handles from the Statesman International if thats what your after.

Would love a pic of your SS when you get the wheels polished. Who know's, it might inspire me to do the same.

I've always been partial to the Calais/Berlina Chrome Window surrounds and as such have done it to every VX/VY I have owned. I had a Black VX SS which I used $18 chrome stripping (need two packs) from Supercheap, looked great, stuck no worries. Next had a red VX Clubby so I bought the proper Calais stuff, cost over $500 for both sides  . Anyway now with the humble VY Acclaim as you can see I have gone back to the cheap stuff from Supercheap, looks fine and really breaks up the colour. The darker the colour the better the results IMO. I also used it around the grille which saves me buying a Calais one as well. The thinner gen Berlina stripping is about $300 to do the whole car. Here a couple of pics of the real vs fake stuff...
