View Full Version : Changes to MAF Does it breach warranty
I have the following mods: GTS MAF Pipe, 2nd hole to the CAI and K&N Filter plus an edit.
Can anybody advice whether Holden will void the Warranty on these mods or is purely the dealers option. Has anyone had experience with this?

It really depends on how anal your dealer is. When mine went in for the consumption/rattle test, I had everything you had except the edit and it was fine with them.
It will be interesting to see if they crack the shits or not when I go back for the replacement diff as I've now also got a full exhaust, pod filter in a sealed enclosure, edit and aftermarket leads.

Edit: PM me if you want to know which dealer I had the rebuild done at.
I assume you have a MAFLESS tune since you are asking about MAFs.
In that case, a half switched on mechanic / dealer is likely to realise the car is not standard. Engine and drive train (trans or clutch, and even diff - due to abuse from "extra power") might stand out as warranttee items a dealer might question.
I had hassle just with a SS cold air induction unit from one dealer (a lazy mechanic who wanted an excuse not to do work that day I think). Having said that, the same dealer serviced a Head and Cam'd car without complaints - so there are no black and white rules on what a dealer will do.
