Whats the waiting period in QLD to get your points back on your license.

Been told two different stories;
1. 12 months after the date of the offence
2. 24 months after the date of the offence

Which is the real deal and which is the old wives tale. Or are they both wrong, whats the story. :rolleyes:

Three years from date of offence, unless you lose your license completely. Then you get all 12 back (depending on the offence, DUI gets 4 point Ps) when it is re-issued. I know this 'cause I'm waiting for some points.

Yeh, Mick's right. You get 12 points, it takes three years to get points back and they will send you a warning letter after nine points. If you lose all 12 they will stick you on a provisional license which only has 4 points or you can elect to lose your license for 3 months and then start over again. Most of us are sweating on getting points back before the next booking!! :(

That's generous. The 12 month provisional license in Vic has only 1 point.

We also get the 3 month option.

In SA you get your points back 3 years after the original offence.

So, assuming you lose 3 points on 1/1/04, then 3 more on 1/1/05, you would have 6 points, then on 1/1/07 you would have 9, then 1/1/08 you would have 12 again.
