gday all
not sure if this is the right section of forum but mods feel free to relocate if required!!!!
i have just got a phone kit for my phone, a t630 and i have a dilemma as to where to place it. i don't want to drill holes in my car if i can avoid it but if i have to so be it. i would prefer it on the drivers side but it is tight for space because the fuse panel has to be able to drop down and it cant get in the way of the climate control. basically i have narrowed it down to on top of the console in front of the climate control, down low near the drivers left leg of on the passanger side somewhere. has anyone else with vy/vs calais installed a car kit and if so where? any other suggestions? also one more question, does the phone connector allready installed in the car include a radio mute line?
cheers

In a VS you remove the Ash tray and get a plate from the tranny tunnel up beside the ash tray and then put the ash tray back in. you need to shave a little plastic from the left hand side but it cant be seen with the ashtray back in place. Bracket costs around $8 (or making one is easy enough)

you can by a proper phone mount from your local holden dealer ( not to be cofused with the Phone holder) to mount your cradle on the pasenger side of the console.
the module is easilly mounted behind the pasenger lower console trim ( glove box has to be removed to do this) you will also find the radio mute and phone power plug located here. The proper plug can be bought from holden for under 10 dollars to finish the job properly.
No cutting required or drilling
Microphone is best placed above the R/V mirror using the valcro supplied directly on to the headligning. :D
Cheers
If you requrie more help just ask ! I have fitted plenty and have them in two of my cars.

thanks for the reply
have decided to mount it in front of the climate control, on top of the console as i want it on the drivers side. in the calais the soft touch console covering is just a cover, so if i decide to sell and want to keep the car kit i will just replace the console cover, it is easy to install/uninstall. i have also cut away the tint on the rear window in preperation for the rear aerial. the aerial lead supplied has only a fitting on one end, with a fitting included in the kit. anyone know how to install the fitting? i have worked most of it out but the is a ferrule thing that i am unsure how it goes on, or if i have to crimp it. i think i have to crimp one end onto the socket and crimp the other end to the cable. also in the vs is the phone connector include a radio mute. there are only 3 wires on the connector, + ignition, + battery, earth.
