A friend attended the Buick GS Nationals in Bowling Green, Kentucky last weekend and there were plenty of redesigned Corvettes on hand. Bowling Green is also home of the Chevrolet Corvette, and where they've been built for years. They aren't due to be released until this fall.

Here are some snaps,

Excuse my ignorance but what is the lever behind the seat? Is it just to bring the seat forward?

Very Ferrari esque......

Just what I was thinking, the front looks quite similar to a 360.

Not bad though, I like it :)

Come on Holden import them and sell them through HSV dealers.
Since they will prob be made in RHD anyway.

I think it's having a bit of a snooze. Poor little thing's gonna wake up reder than a lobster if he doesn't wake up soon ;)

Roger that. Granted, it's not as hi-tech as the Monaro's electric seats, but then again, they tend to take forever to move :bash:

Yes - lever on the back of the seat is to allow it to be tipped forward...

Dillema for HSV is brining in a 400hp Corvette for approx 150k and then trying to position it against the 100k Coupes... Hey - it's a no brainer in my book, but I'm already a Corvette nut... :)

That CAI is pretty much the same as the C5 one as well... Don't know how we'd go about fitting one over our radiators, under the bonnet, and down behind the bumper. Could be worth a shot I guess...

They will be made for RHD for Europe, importing them to Australia shouldn't be difficult at all.

Wow - I wonder what made them decide to do that for the first time...

I think GM done lost the plot. I see borrowed styling from Mazdas (headlight covers) Alfas (piggy-eye lights) old Pom roadsters (rear fender lines) those crap 180 horse 80's Vettes (rear end).

I may be being unkind, or maybe they were going for retro themes which appeal to the core market which has become older and more conservative - after all, young trendsetters can't afford Vettes. Maybe it looks 100% better in the flesh.

If Holden can get canned for the VY (Magna tailights, angular themes) then Chevvy should get panned for the Corvette. It was always a cartoon caricature car, but in a good way - the Stingray, the shark styling of the late 60's, even the CanAm styling of the 70's.

But it has gone from being an 'out-there' car to being a pack follower IMO. All it has going for it is a big V8, which is not enough.

It should also be a lot lighter with composite construction and an all-alloy mill.
If I could afford $150K for a Sunday driver (and a $million penthouse and blonde trophy wife) I think I'd rather something with a prancing horse or one of Ferdinand's creations.

I think it looks ok....just a subtle variation from C5.

As much as some of us would like to see them on our roads, I don't think GM/Holden will bring 'em here. Look at the Aussie RHD Mustang. Ford took ages to move them at $85k. As wywalk pointed out, HSV would end up charging $150k for a 'Vette Vs. $100k for a GTS Coupe which will probably have the same donk before too long. Can't see it happening.

ROGUE....if you win the lotto have your Ls1 brotherhood over shouldn't even be a QUESTION....we all should be celebrating your good fortune together...

strippers is an idea...

back to the topic the Vette looks rather nice, different look to it though...abit of Dodge in the front look but more Ferrari shape to it....

all in all a nice car for a Vette lover like myself..
