Ok i just moved to Hastings Victoria from SA and after being here a week my car has already been vandalized. Im guessing they arent liking the SA plates on the SV8. Glad it was only flour but next time might be something worse.
Bit pissed off but getting Vic plates on monday. So hopefully problem will be solved.
Any others out there had this problem?

Welcome to Victoria.
Probably just a bit of bad luck but lucky they did not do damage to the car.
I have been fortunate with my car(s), but it happened with my mums car a few years ago when she had an RX7.
It was parked in a carpark when she did some shopping only to come back 30 minutes later to find a big key mark down the left hand side door that was about 30cm long eating right back to the bare metal.
Just have to be careful where you leave it.
It would be very nice to catch the idiots that go around doing stuff like that.

I used to work in Richmond and regularly parked my car in a particular side street. One day I got back to the car to find that someone had taken a dump on the bootlid. After trying to flick it off with a piece of bark, I found that it had partially dried and stuck itself to the paint. Took me a good 5 minutes at one of those do-it-yourself-high-pressure-wash places to get it off.

HASTINGS!!! no wonder, just like
Frankston, seaford, sommerville, the pines, Mornington.
No matter how many town houses they build around these areas, the scum will always be around
i know what these areas are like, as i live on the penninsula

I think everyone on this forum could name suburbs. I think a lot of time it is either jealousy, or I hate Holden or I hate Ford. I hope when they finally save for something their narrow mindness is repeated on them.

Sorry to hear about your car but that's typical of Hastings. Lived in the place for too many years (as well as Cerberus). Better to live out of Hastings and/or get a large dog, Crib Point isn't a bad place to live. And be careful parking your car at shopping centres in Frankston too....
It's just too bloody cold down there.

Hahaha nuffin. Decided I wanted to change my career and do something different. Im RAAF and i gotta put up with Navy for 12 months. Ah well.
BTW my car was parked in the Coles car park in Hastings, right next to a VT, so it was definately the number plates that got em stirred.
Ah well all will be sorted tomorrow at Vic Roads.

Lived in an Elwood apartment (Bayside Melb) near the local Football ground/Amateur's HQ for 5 years and had my van parked on the street the whole time with never a problem... the first week after moving into a house in nearby suburb of supposedly more family orientated area and the bloody thing is badged in the driveway...a VW van for god's sake...lucky the things are very loosely fixed so that no damage is done ripping them out and I could imagine the looser wearing it around his neck like Prince Planet's power shield..(who remebers the cartoon?)

Sure does. Some bloke slammed his car door into my dad's S-class when it was 3 weeks old _on purpose_ while my dad was in the car waiting to pick up my little bro (the guy didn't realise he was sitting there, got a VERY nasty suprise). Mates of mine have got cars keyed, panels kicked in, and all the rest of it. A lot of this was just at university car parks too...
My dad even had his Ford XC GT back window smashed out when he was a teenager - parking it during the day in the city!
People out there are just jealous, or insane, or stupid, or just straight up f'ckwits.
It's a universal problem I'm sure.

Yep, welcome to Vic. Our cars have been parked on the street for the last couple of months and so far my mate had someone jump on his boot, I had my mirror bumped into (luckily just folded back and not broken) and last week I had... wait for it... a family-sized apple pie thrown at it. We also had a lucky escape one night when some kids were hanging out of a car holding a wheelie bin when it got some speed wobbles going and came to rest about a metre from my mates car. Just looking forward to catching them in the act and having the little bastards arrested.

Funny you say that, my mates car got some nasty damage done to it sitting at Football Park in Adelaide...so I guess it goes both ways...

Lot's of idiots everywhere.
Sometimes it is just kids with nothing better to do, however there is a lot of so called adults there that never grew up. lol
Just look at the way the world is at the moment.
Says it all I think.

I live in Frankston/ Mt Eliza area and it can be said that there is a definite youth problem in some areas of the Mornington Peninsula (Hastings included). Sorry to hear about your car, hopefully it was just a one off experience. We need to lobby for more Police on patrol down this way, not the endless highway patrol/revenue raisers that I see whenever I am out and about at night.

Only time I ever had the problem was when I was 19 or 20 and had headed over to Adelaide for a weekend. Car parked in a side street and when I got back to the car (after the crows had lost a game of football) every panel had a charming message of some description...."Go home Vic Scum", "F@#$ of VIC", etc etc.
If the old HR hadn't cost me $500 I would have gone nuts!! As it was it simply started a restoration and modification campaign that didn't end for 5 years!! Loved every minute of it!!
Over here never a problem, but then have never had interstate plates while driving in VIC

I remember a couple of years back just before I bought my VX SS, I looked at a pristine Phantom Mica VT SS in a yard, it seemed to have extra silver in the black it was probably the nicest Black one I had seen, took my son back the next morning to have another look (it was a Sunday morning) and some low life had scratched '351 GT' in big letters on the bonnet and keyed both sides.
I went back a few weeks later it had been fixed but was just not the same.

Hey hey hey true Justin, im classed as scum to some people :D
I remember back in 2000, when vandals targeted Nepean Hwy, they started from Carrum, and made there way down to Frankston, Not a day went passed when the same cars parked out on the main road had a broken window or missing wheels
