So why am I posting and not driving?????

Because after stopping the car in front of my house to take some "while it's still new pics" it won't start. wrrrr...wrrrrrr...wrrrrrrr...click.click.click FLAT BATTERY!!!!!!! I noticed it a little slow starting the 2nd time at the dealers too, but just thought it was a tight motor.

The car is only 1 hour old (in my possesion anyway), now I am sitting here waiting for roadside assist to start me so that I can drive back to the dealer and check out the problem.

I don't think that I am very happy Jan!!

Hopefully better news soon.
Glad the new beast has arrived, back to a V8 for you.

With any luck, this will be the worst of your troubles.

Happy motoring.

Oh well, it could be worse :(

I noticed the same thing when a dealer started one up in the yard...obviously some of the cars aren't fired up very often in the showroom. I assume you got one from the yard/showroom?

Mine was ordered for me, and it only arrived 4 days ago, so it shouldn't have been sitting in the yard for too long.

This just in......

Roadside Assist tested the battery and said that it has full charge, but there is an internal fault which makes it have not enough power to crank, so a RACV battery dude is coming within the hour.

If this is the only problems with the car that I have, i'll be set. It is just not a good start (pardon the pun, hehe) for only the 3rd start (or lack of the 3rd start in this case).

Hey Richie, I could have still used that excuse, there was one about 300m up the road in our street. Sorry, but it closed about 6 months ago. I never ventured in to sample the goods, but I am fairly sure sure you'd have to BYO paper bags!!

As long as the bat they supply is same spec & quality of make....
Holden should send you the 'factory' battery if only that old

Will be interesting to see if the fault is with the battery or if there is a problem in the security system immobiliser.

I didn't check the exact specs, but the guy said it was the same. I was going to ask for a super heavy duty, but got side tracked and forgot to mention it.

I guess I'll have to wait and see. They tested the circuit and said that the current drain was normal with all things turned off (ie. only the security system running). The dude was fairly positive that it was a dud battery, and he said that it was not a common thing at all.

He checked each chamber of the battery and they were all charged and appeared to be running normally, it just didn't want to play ball with the cranking of the engine.

Yeah, 3 months is a pretty standard wait. Some wait a little less, but that's about the norm. Mine was ordered December 29 and delivered March 20

Yep, I had a 4 month wait but mainly due to the Holden Assist apparently.

Mine was about 6 weeks, so I had to defer it for a month so that it arrived at the dealers a week before I got back from the states.

Ouch!

I ordered mine on 18th March, and had it in my driveway on 26th March, and it's a Feb 04 build!

Actually happened a bit *too* quickly, as the leasing company had to take a double dip out of my salary to get things in order....

Sounds like the dealer did a ring around to other local dealers to see if they had stock that matched what you wanted on your order sheet... My dealer offered to do this, but couldn't find a White M6 SS with black leather. Found a few with red leather, and one with black but it was an A4, and said he could get one of those to me within 14 days, but I said I wanted it exactly how I wanted it... Hence the 3 month wait...

Any update JNeil oh and don't forget the piccies.

When I went to my dealer, he had a new Silver & Black VXII SS in the lot and said he could have it ready within the week. I had to postpone it as I didn't have my finances quite ready.

So far it's all good, appears to start and run normal, maybe give it another week or two and see if it's still crank'n.

I must say that I really liked the VX, perhaps it was just the noise and power talking though ;)

Tint is going on on Friday, should look even better!

 to Quicksilver SS's!
