Nobody knows with absolute certainty all the ways a magnetic field can affect a moving fluid. There are several theories, however one seems to be the most logical and widely accepted...

Back when Brocky was as cool as the hairs on a polar bears ass (20 years ago) he tried to push the idea that a fridge magnet could make a car run a zillion times better / faster / cleaner / anything-else-er, and that's why the newest Brock Commodore is almost 20 years old now.
Spend your money wisely and buy some neons or something............

some other info
Water works very well like this. Scale build up stops due to the alignment of the - & + . Nothing can then attach itself to the molicule. (SP)
used it in boat fuel systems as well, Standard with catapiller engines, so maybe it does something.
was going to test it myself but never got a big enough rare earth magnet, dug one up out of a HD but it broke
