Here's what some guy in the US is doing to his GTO, doesn't look that bad, although I'll wait for finished product to see if its actually an improvement.

I think he is 'Americanising' it, not really to my tastes either, but good on him for doing something different.
Do you think this is the sort of thing old-time, purist Goat owners would be wishing for from Pontiac?

Yep. I remember a car designer once saying that American car designs always look good when in a hand drawn sketch, but when actually made they lose a bit, where Euro. cars are quite the opposite, they are made as real cars, but as a sketch are probably a little boring.

I'd have one, I think it looks great, though I've always thought the Chevelle was a tough muscle car

Struth!
Wouldn't be happy if I stacked the thing! All the trouble to get a custom panel made up again!

I'm guessing they will be making molds for custom panels.

I thought it would turn out better than it did - looked tough in construction, a bit weird as the finished product.

As a subscriber to Hot Rod Mag, I am ashamed to tell you that it is a Hot Rod sponsored vehicle, Aloha Chevrolet are making a run of those Chevelle replicas.
It was in an issue a few months ago.

That thing is attrocious. I saw some pictures a few months back. Now does everybody see what happens when you try to make a modern car look "retro", you get that monstrosity. And it can all be yours for $90,000.

OKAY bag me all you like but I think it looks HORN!!!
100% different form what's out there at the moment and beatifully integrated.
While I'm not really sure about the front corner where the headlamps and bumper meet the guards I reckon the ass looks fantastic. And the stripes fit the bill too.....
I would have one in a second...
BTW would love to see a photoshop of this in yellow...

Yeah I totally agree, ruined a perfectly good car... way too much money...

I have to agree with LS1CorpCruiser.
The headlights are a big disappointment, and the worst part of the car IMO.
The body actually isn't that bad. If they were to put VK headlights in there, it'd look WAY better.....

Taste is something money can't buy! The retro front and back just don't match the modern window line. The LS6/LS7 chevelle SS is one of the fastest mass produced yankee muscle cars from the 60's/70's, why try to reproduce a ledgend? Oh well each to their own, variety is the spice of life and if we all had the same thoughts/tastes it would be a prety dull world :D

Well if you really want one... That is a picture is of a prototype made by a customizing company. I was serious that you can have one for $90,000, that's how much they are selling them for.
The only thing I'd be interested in is the engine mods that they did. That thing is cranking some decent horse power, just too bad the car is fugly. I'll admit that the rear end isn't completely awful, but the front is horrid.
