Judging my previous releases, I don't see any reason why the ute won't go on sale about the same time. They might delay it by a month or so for marketing reasons, but not much.

I'm surprised we haven't seen any "scoop" pics of VZ in Motor etc...
They're usually around 6 months ahead of release of the model...

I remember reading about how some guy wanted to buy a VY ute and he went to the Holden dealer and had a chat to them.... they told him to hold off with the VY ute and wait a while for the VZ ute.. So I think it could be out in a while ehehhehe
heres the link and a good read I might ad, I just found it while I was writing this.
Forgot about the registering thing heres the copy... :bash:

"Went to Zupp's at Aspley (Brisbane) today with my old man to look at the VY series 2 SS ute (He was gonna buy one), he was kinda dissapointed with the colour range due to the absence of 'hothouse green' which only came on series 1.
The salesman went on to say Holden was bringing at new colours with the VZ range which will be available in september. After some further enquiries we discovered that not only will the VZ SS Ute have some cosmetic changes it will also be coming with a 6.0 litre Gen IV engine.
Power figures havent been announced by Holden yet, but are expected to be up 20kw. This will bring the SS ute to 265kw, which is 5kw more then Ford's 'same category' ute.
Needless to say that my old man is now holding out till september...
Has anyone heard anything of the VZ ?? Will it also introduce Holdens new HPV6 (if that name's correct, cant remember) ??
Edit -
After some searching i have discovered that the same engine will be released in the 2005 corvette.
Specs are - 534Nm @ 4400rpm and 298kW @ 6000rpm. The rev limiter is set at 6500rpm, though sadly there's no talk of overhead camshafts. The 364 cubic inch powerplant still makes use of 2-valves per cylinder and pushrods.
"More than dynamometer numbers, the LS2 engine's range of power and torque is broad and very usable in everyday driving," explained Muscaro.
"This engine is smoother, and more refined, but at the same time retains tire-thrashing output."
When compared to the outgoing Gen III-based LS1 mill, the LS2 is some seven kilograms lighter and has increased camshaft lift in order to take advantage of an increase in cylinder head flow.
I have also read that the Holden VZ version will be VVTI, but this might not be true, also another thing is that they will be releasing a 285kw Turbo V6, again this may not be true..."

Call it a conspiracy theory however I think both mags (Wheels/Motor) are too close to the car company's then ever and the promise of "inside information" like shots of the engineers developing the cars, early drives of prototypes etc..for the return favour of with-holding any early "spy shots" has changed things in the last few years. I remember in the late 80's shots of the EA Falcon, taken a year before release, while running through the Ford proving ground by a fence jumper and similar shots of Holden products...ahh they were the good old days, real spy shots and not information "leaked" by the marketing departments. Ford's drip feeding of information for BA and Territory has also ruined such an occurence and probably pissed off the press.
