Sold my VU SS Hyper Yellow Ute yesterday... to my Stepfather.
He is getting it with all the goodies that it had a little while ago, (mid 11 sec combo)
234/238 108 630/630 cam
ported heads
new valve train
recent refresh on short motor.
fuel system
4500 8" converter
4L65E with all the good stuff (new box from tonner plus goodies from old 4L60E)
3.91 gears
18" wheels, suspension all worked out and drag wheels/tyres.
He will use it for fun around town and race it...God love him

I bought a new VY2 V8 1 tonne ute in Cosmo (purple)...it's going to cop the drag pack treatment. ;)
It's registered (BAD434) and will remain so.
Put my TH400 in this weekend
It goes in to get nine inch diff fitted 07/05/04
Gets roll cage 15/05/04
Haven't decided on slick size yet, will work that out once wheels/diff are all worked out, then diff ratio will be worked out after engine has been dynoed and tyre size is finalised.
Stall converter will be built after engine is dynoed.
Engine is 434 cube LS1. (what I know so far)
Block- 4.155" bore, PowerTorque Engines wet sleeve. (this has been developed inhouse at PowerTorque and is an awesome setup).
Crank - 4340 4"
Heads - LS6 Ported by Powertorque
Valves - Titanium intake/stainless exhaust
Pistons - Ross
Rods - 6.125" Scat H beams
Cam - yet to be determined valve events, Comp cams Hydralic Roller.
Intake - 90mm F.A.S.T.
Pipes - Custom Tri Y's
Std Computer...recalibrated of course.

Should be alot of fun when it's all finished

I also bought a New SS Crewman Auto Cosmo (purple).
It will serve as daily work truck, family truck, tow truck..that's right, I'm going to tow the tonner (it's all too hard to drive to the track, change wheels, race, hope nothing breaks, change wheels and drive home). So I will just load it on the trailer and tow it to the track(s).
I intend to be at the Street Commodores Nationals in Sydney 31/07 01/08 with both Crewman and 1Tonner.

I'll update as things happen.

Got the 1tonner back from diff shop today. The new 9" diff hasn't been fitted yet, it has been all measured up and we are waiting for the axles to arrive (should be about 3 weeks), the diff will retain the ABS too.

I have gone with 15"x10" rears and 15" x 5" fronts Weld Pro Stars and 28"x 10.5" M/T slicks.

This week the windows come out and I take all the interior out (seats, carpet/underlay,console, dash, windows, hood linning) except the door trims.
Then next week it's booked in for Cage, seats, harnesses, fuel system, engine plate, caltracks(they are a type of radius rod arrangement that work with leaf springs), back tray.

Then I get to put it all back together

On another note, my parents took delivery of my old ute on the weekend, we pulled the motor and trans on Saturday afternoon.
The engine is ready to goto Power Torque for a cam change and tune and the TH400 that was in it is going in the 1 tonner.
The 4L60E that was in the 1 tonner is currently @ BobGrant Racing Transmissions getting upgraddes to go into the ute.

The tilt tray that bought my 1 Tonner back from the diff shop took the ute off to the Panel Shop for a tidy up too.
We (my parents) hope to have the ute on the road this weekend and @ the Strip Saturday night...I don't like our chances as I'm working in Byron Bay @ the moment and it cuts down on time to take bits and peices here and there, put this together and pull this apart etc etc...very busy atm.

What we blokes don't realise is that the females have mastered this art of secrecy years ago.

And if you're thinking, 'no, not my woman', yes yours TOO!!!

I don't how they does it, but they does it.

Steve.
