Just a heads up for those interested or in the area. The HSV club in association with the FPV lads are holding their Winton sprint round this coming Saturday.

A full field of 70 cars have been confirmed so if your looking for something to do make the effort and come and have a look, you'll see some pretty awesome machines being put through their paces.

Hope to see a few forumers there. Come and say hi - I'll be there puting the Marlboro VH through its paces (if she doesn't blow up again)

Cheers Stu

Should be a great day, it is always a well organised day when HSV Car Club organise it. I have my Rip Shifter Fixed now so I will get to do more than just the familiarisation this time! I havent actually seen the groups yet but I assume I will be with Grassy and Dane, its frustrating following these guys, with Grassy at Sandown and his old brakes I could go deeper under brakes (went a little too deep into turn one at one stage!) and Catch up to him, made me think I was doing well and then get to the straight and I would have to check to see if I grabbed 6th rather than 4th. The buggers just pull away like nothing else.. Guess I got 60rwkw less than Grassy and 140rwkw less than Danes.... I need to get twin turbo!

I will make sure I come up and say Hi this time Stu. Looking forward to the day!

Winton is always a blast and hopefully you and I can catch some of the bigger boys this time as Winton is much more of a leveler

See you there mate

Yeah I havent raced Winton yet, should be good. I have decent pads now so brakes should be alot better. I just have to get a few laps in and see how I go.

Yeah I dream of stuffing it down the inside of Grassy and Dane, both on the same corner  And then somehow holding them off down the straight!! I dont think my Clubby could be that wide!

Whats the deal with the Garages at Winton? Phillip Island wanted like $110 per Garage which I think is a rip off. Do you know what Winton Charge and if they do a three garage deal?

What time does the day kick off Stu? Its only a short drive from Shepp so I will come over for a gander.

Any time tables etc?

Some good lap times by our LS1 members.
Dane's fastest was in the low 1.42 and Grassy's were only a half second behind. Didnt see Pooga's.

Again a good day, just a bit cold for us onlookers. For a joint meet of HSV and FPV/XR clubs, the ford sure were let down with their attendance numbers. Shame really, there wasnt even a BA XR8 of GT amongst them. A couple of XRT's but no new 8's at all.

Some pretty toey drivers out there at times. Soom poor bugger in his ED decided it looked better in the tyres, and a particular white Walkinshaw was unable to continue after the firs warm up session due to mechanical gremlins. Bad luck Spank, I was keen to see it go round.

Turns 1 and 2 continued to claim its fair share of victims, although some chose to do it on 1 (hey Pooga) than 2 as there is less concrete. Grassy went back to his preschool days and had a play in the sand pit and turn 3 (damn fords)before some nice tail waging action to get it back on the blackstuff. Then after trying to lift an inside wheel around turn 1 he finally succeeded.

Stu was tight around the track all day in the big Marlboro Commie. (got a good photo Stu)

Got to go now as DECA awaits.

Didn't see you buddy - sorry. How cold was it though.
I pulled the pin on Deca after blowing the exhuast apart on the Brock - was bad enough driving down the Hume than through Shepp.

Have to catchya next time mate
Stu

ps: wouldn't mind a peek at the pic as the missus spent the day in the winery instead of taking pics

.... Quite a few spins and lock ups for the day. :D

Managed to get a couple of 1.40's in the last session, bloody rapt. :p Have placed a review thread up for the day. :D

Cheers,
