For those that don't know, up here in Tville we have been neglected of decent fuel (98RON) for ages, and in my quest to obtain some to assist over the blacktop, I found out that the local Main Shell Distributor (Shell Direct) does actually sell Optimax in 20ltr and 200ltr(44's) drums.
So I ring the company to see if I can grab a couple of 20ltr drums and almost fell off me chair when quoted a price for the stuff.

20ltr drum Optimax = $35.63 = $1.78/ltr
However, the rep did say that if I purchased a 200ltr drum it would only be $275 = $1.35/ltr :bash:
Talk about taking advantage of us poor blokes in the North eh!!!

On a more positive note, me and nqcv8 pulled into a local BP servo last night, and they were giving out flyers on Ultimate, apparently it's heading Nth finally in the not to distant future (not holding our breath).

OK..........end of rant

sounds like townsville may get ultimate sooner than rocky then, local BP still saying around 18-24 months before we are to see ultimate.

Actually 1.35 a litre isn't that expensive. Ive seen it at that price retail in sydney. Im guessing you also get a 44 gallon drum with the fuel... 20L cans would be useless for a car.. You would need atleast 3 to even fill up a small tank once. If you only going to use it for the strip, then who cares if its $1.7 a litre, you car would use not much of that over 400m.

with 200L drums, if you purchase a few carefully at the right time, you could actually get close to beating pump prices.

do you get the drums with that or do you have to use your own?
cause i want some cool drums, and it would not be that expensive down here, goldcoast/brisbane.

i want the drums for a tv unit stand. was going to get some motul (bike 2stroke brand) ones, but their too expensive.
