Just put a mild steel cat back twin2.5" manta system on the SV8, somewhat disappointed. :( Unfortunately didn't have a dyno done but I swear I am now dragging an anchor with everywhere I go.
The low and mid range ( <4500prm ) revs has suffered to the point where I am scared to line up with a six cylinder Ford. :bash: The fuel economy has also taken a hit from 9.8 to 10.5 on long trips.
A K&N goes in this weekend with plans for 4-2-1 and opened up cats in the near future in an attempt to feel like I am driving a 5.7l car.
Any other suggestions other than put the old system back on and play a pre recorded CD of a V8 driving,
Cheers
Someone on this forum has dropped rear mufflers - left rear resonators and run 12's 1/4 miles with a decent exhaust sound on his VY SS Ute - might be worth a try

Perth Exhaust Centre claim about 25 odd kw dont they ???
I have the exact system on my ute ( the ' fullrace ' as they calll it ) with H&M headers and hi flow cats ( basically no rear resonators)
Mine goes like stink ( for a stocker ) Ive hauled in a 255 clubby and a GT
Round town its reasonable thirsty( my driving technique I put it down to ) but I still get 31mpg ( sorry I was brought up the old school) on the open road
Despite it being load , crackley and a little barky , sounds like an old 253 down low , it all makes sense and sounds like a supercar when the tachos at the business end ....
Cant tell you if the torque downlow is different cos it wason the car when I bought it

Tried doing a reset on the PCM? It might take a while otherwise to 'learn' the new exhaust. Short of a complete dyno tune, it may help. I think you need to disconnect the battery for a couple hours to put it into startup mode.
You'll lose whatever you've customised in the DIC.
