looking good Kris, you need to debadge it to finish the look off tho :)

Agree with the debadging..
fark it's clean, looks nice
Still looks bloody sharp :D
In my opinion - don't debadge it. 90% of debadged commodores I've come across have just been riced up stock v6's.

When we went to take the photo's of QIKMIK's car for his ride thread I took a quick photo towards mine to check the white balance on the camera and this photo resulted! Kinda like it considering the car was absolutely filthy at the time and it still looked clean :D

Are you planning to add a body kit in the future ? I think they look pretty good as they are. I`m pretty happy with the shape of mine.
Very nice car you have. You should be proud of the way you keep it.

I initially planned on adding the lower HBD kit (no boot spoiler) to the car - but due to some stuffups with the delivery of the car (they accidently ordered an Ecotec6!) it never eventuated - same with my sunroof :(
But aftermarket it's too much hassle to get hold of the kit and Holden no longer sell the VX HBD parts so I'm happy to leave it the way it is.
I wouldn't consider adding any other style of kit to it as I don't want to pretend it's something that it's not.
It still turns plenty of heads and gets plenty of second looks especially when it's clean - mind you the exhaust note gets the attention of those that weren't looking in the first place

Be proud of that ! Love the colour. Very Very nice.
Big fan of the sleeper look & IMHO the VX rear garnish looks better than the monaro setup. Sits nice too. Lowered??
Good pics. You Qld guys have got some great looking rides.

You snuck up the inside of me yesterday when you turned onto Lutwyche Road, it looked good, nice and shiney after it's weekend wash, sounds good too.

I`m in complete agreement about pretending it`s something it`s not , I`m going to keep everything under the bonnet . I like the sleeper image

hehe, I thought that was your ute as I remembered the plates from the dyno day. I'm surprised it still sounded good since it's running on 7 cylinders intermittently atm (1 dodgy lead/plug) and was playing up quite a bit at that exact moment. You should hear her when she's firing on 8! Can't miss her coming

Thought I'd post up a quick sound file (480K Quicktime .mov file) of the idle plus a bit of a rev.

Gave her a good detail so I thought it was time for new pics.
Not much changed visually other than lowering- the mods are below the surface where they belong :D

Panasonic DMC-FZ10
Cost just under $1K when I first bought it, prices have come down quite a bit (and new models released) since then
Oh, and before anyone says it, I know I'm missing a few chrome wheelnut covers - I intend on buying a new set of 20 next week :D

Kris: i have 3/4's of a set of chrome ones you can have. I no longer use them since i sold the old wheels. They are at Carindale if you want to pick them up.

Looks bloody good. I think the blacked out headlights you can get now would really look sweet on it.

That's a very very tidy ride...
the more i see berlina's & calais the more i want that rear garnish for the ss....
But tidy car mate.. Sounds nice from the outside (listening to the video file) Is it loud inside the car?

You certainly know it has an exhaust on it even on little throttle, but as soon as you back off the throttle it goes quiet. There was absolutely no drone at all at cruising speeds (60-80, 100-110) until I got the 3.7's installed. Now there's a little right at 80 and 110 - so I either drive just a little faster or a little slower and it's gone. Small price to pay for the extra punch of the 3.7's
I've got the stocko V6 company car for daily driving now so she's been retired to casual duty only.

Fair enough, but it is nice... Love the shape.. Love the note.. Its just a nice package.. I have a thing for stock looking cars..... Looks can be deceiving ;)
And thats the way it should be (IMHO)
Can you answer this for me, the chrome strip on the rear garnish, is that an option? or did u come up with it from somewhere else??? (all this after i just said leaving cars looking stock, but that berlina/calais garnish gets me every time)

It's the standard VX Calais strip. I think it finishes off the garnish properly and the Berlina garnish looks "plain" without it. Little buggers aren't cheap though ... $60 odd for a piece of chrome looking plastic.
