Hi All,

I have uploaded "The Last Ride" video to VooDoo's webspace.

http://voodoo.theddrzone.com/images/movies/jneil/

Now before you dialup users get too excited, IT'S 700MB and is in XVID format (the Codec is also in the jneil folder).

Enjoy!

Jeff.

i have never made a VCD before can some give me some tips ?

I tried using nero 6 last night.

it took 3 hours to encode (why so long, is this normal?)
then it said it wouldnt fit on the 700 meg disk, (the file actually says 701 which means it wont fit but i thought it would work as it got through to the encoding stage first - STUPID NERO)

Howdy Drizt,

If you head over to www.vcdhelp.com it'll tell you all about making vcd's & svcd's. I'd make a SVCD though as the quality will be MUCH better. You'll need 2 x CD's either way you go. Alternatively convert it to MPEG2 and make a DVD out of it..you can add in your own chapter marks too.

Cheers,

Jeff.

Hello,

What video player are you all using to view the video as i have got it but only the sound plays.

You will probably need the XVID codec loaded first (it is in the jneil folder with the movie), once this codec is loaded, you can view it with Windows Media Player or PowerDVD or anything that plays videos

regards,

Jeff.

Took me just over 7 hours on my slow 256 adsl.... watched it yesterday, and my verdict is...
I wouldn't pay for the movie, but will watch it a few times... Loved the early judge...... but why did he drive off the cliff at the end,,,, surely a better ending would be the baddy going to jail and him and his son/grandson living happily ever after..

Yeah the end was a little weird. It wasn't a bad movie considering it was made just for US TV. And you never really saw the red modified munro use the NOS either.

7 hours over adsl!!!

I'm turning it into DVD Wednesday when I get home, and I'll let you all know if it's worth their while. From the quality, it should encode nicely...shame it's not widescreen.

Cheers

Hmm. Nice speed.

Best i got once was 4mb/s (7mb/s peak) from that server to my other one in Melb.

Watched the movie and thought it was pretty good for a telemovie. They didnt show much of the new GTO. Plus they need to loose the wings. It went from bad to worse and that colour....eeewwww.

If anyone is kinda enough to burn a copy for myself, im not lucky enough to get any hi speed connection, i could happily transfer $$ into someones account.

I've done a DVD copy. It come out pretty good, dont think it has that much better quality that i would've got out of a SVCD, but i found it easier to convert to DVD....oh and i was out of blank CD's anyway...

The DVD copy came out pretty good. As mentioned previous, can't make better than the original.

After waiting for about a week to download it with dialup lol I finaly got it.
Put it on DVD and came out pretty good, sound not the best but its watchable.
I also made Chapters every 10 mins so theres 9 chapters in total, so its pretty good.
Nice GTO they done up to by the way.
