hmmm

I think they do around 350 rw's so depending on setup yer low to mid 11's reckon.

Funny I was wondering this exact same thing over the weekend! FDVT - one extra thing to remember is the touring cars are stripped out and only weigh around 1350kg don't they? So maybe they could crack a 10 second pass? Certianly mid-low 11s would be doable.

i had a copy from tv of Brocky in the HDT a9x [1975 ?] doing 10 .6 with Harvey ...black tyre marks for 100 yards .
Brocky was not known for his starts but at the drags hey aced them all..
including Moffat and one other ford i cant recall

I was thinking 10's as well. But obviouly they wouldn't go to the hassle of setting it up for the strip.

Hi

I beleive a 2003 Garry Rogers Motorsport V8 Supercar would do an 11.7 at 123mph over the quarter whilst still setup for circuit use.

The biggest problem with a v8 supercar is the clutch..... They just don't slip very easily.... I think though you would be looking at a mid 10 in the right hands....

I know for sure Seton did the 11.5 in the AU I think it was, but that was a while ago, now days the cars could be faster and lighter dont you all agree?? I recon they could do 10's easily...thats not bad at all..

1350kg, 620bhp. do the maths

i remember a few years ago reading a street machine where dick johnson raced his EF or EL race car against some yank who brought their nascar down to australia ... dick ran a high 10 and the nascar ran into the 11s ... more power and less weight but couldnt get the same traction... much higher MPH iirc tho

try this calculator with 620 hp and 1350kg says 8.03 sec pass lol..

It all depends if Ambrose or B'Ingall ran you off the track before you got to the end. :D

Maybe someone like Victor Bray could help out? :D

Not sure if it happens at other tracks, but when the V8Supercars are on locally, the drag cars always turn up as well. Surely getting a seasoned drag racer into a V8Supercar at one of these events wouldn't be that difficult eg teams that both have Castrol sponsorship?

On second thoughts, Victor might not be the ideal size (no disrespect intended), but just used him as an example....

It would be an interesting exercise

Correct and the estimated ET comes out at 10.6 if you do it right! (Add drivers weight etc in as well).
