Ran our Cam only R&D car on Sun at Heathcote with some encouraging results even at this early stage with this car.
Ran 11.95 @ 115.77
11.92 @ 115.95
This car is a VY SS M6 Sedan with no weight reduction in any shape or form,we ran the car in full as driven street trim other than slicks, utilising our mafless tune for our OTR intake at the strip.Fuel load was at half tank also.So as you can imagine this car is not light(3750-3800 pounds race weight, maybe even more?) highlighting a great result. It uses our G&D ZE-1 street camshaft with duration in the mid 220's.This combo produces excellent low down torque & great manners for all round street use while still producing the goods at the track.
Our next step is to run our ZE-2 camshaft(currently undisclosed specs) in this car as is & report the results, should be interesting.
This camshaft package costs $3995.00 (add $335.00 for mafless) drive in drive out using all top quality parts inc G&D camshaft, comp springs & rollmaster adj gear set, mobil one oils, genuine coolants etc.
We plan to try at least 5 different camshaft profiles in this car, this allows us to deliver the best combos to the end user, our customers at the best price.
We also wan't be able to provide packages with 11 sec capability without using crazy camshaft profiles & turning them into a lazy pig down low just to make top end power for drag strip use only to claim a fast time.99.9% of people use there car everyday.

Hi
Nice times for a cam only car with NO weight removal. I got the mph......now I just need the et!
11.9 sounds much better than a 12.8 in my car. I am working on it.... :booty:

Richard

Geez Glenn, you guys are really putting the runs on the board of late. Congratulations, i'm sure there has been plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes to achieve such awesome results...
That price you quoted is excellent - would a car like that VY SS you mentioned have an upgraded clutch or is that on the "to do" list ??
I take it there's exhaust and diff gears in the car already ??
Cheers,
Paul...

Glenn, yell out if you need a auto SS to try some cams in.

The car runs an upgraded clutch as the stock clutch just won't cut the mustard with the extra power.
The exhaust is not standard,a combo like this needs to breathe.
Diff gears are the lowest available.

Great to see the black VY run very decent times. Now I wonder who'll hold the fastest cam only car if we resorted to gutting it?

You tell me. I'm only going by what you posted up. BTW the Maloo isn't the black one I saw run at Calder was it? It was stripped as the same and sounded real angry.

DamianZE-2 camshaft going in wednesday, tuned thursday, hopefully to the track Friday night.Don't know whether to pull the interior out or not though. The ute is a lighter car so it will always have an advantage over us.Should we or shouldn't we?
Come on Juzzy run that 11 so we can slot a cam in the red beast. We'll give our wifes some shopping money if they let us keep going to the track ;)

Maybe you should and have a shot at the cam only record.
Happy to weigh cars with drivers in them to be fair.
We have the same problem running sedans in the unopened class against unopened utes!

Cheers PhonsyYour right,at the end of the day winner takes all. It's no use having excuses about extra weight if your coming second.Stuff it lets pull the seats out.Now the only thing missing from this car is a ripshift.Better rectify that.Might pinch Matts.

Stuff it lets pull the seats out.
Don't you want to compare the time difference between the stage 1 and 2 cam?

Don't you want to compare the time difference between the stage 1 and 2 cam? You've got a good point, I think we'll reduce some weight after we run with the new cam.I was getting a bit carried away in the spirit of competition.
