Guys,

Need some help (ideas, software etc) with unformatting a hard disk for a friend, any suggestions?
It is currently partitioned into 3 drives (C - programs etc, D- data and E- kids games) and his wife accidently formatted the D partition.
Thanks
Steve

I have not used this product, but found a link to it on the net.

Restorer 2000, http://www.bitmart.net/index.shtml

I dont know if there is a freebie available or something else, it may be worth the wait and see what other user's suggest.

cheers

WinME uses FAT32 which is a bit touchy when it comes to this sort of thing. If you have written any data at all to the drive, everything that was there previously will be lost.

I doubt you'll find any decent freeware that will fix it, because FAT32 is still strictly licensed by Microsoft.

This looks pretty good:

If your data is that valuable, $50 US is nothing.

No doom and gloom here son.. Nothing mysterious about Fat32... Active Partition Recovery will get the partition back in a Jiff... Used a gazillion times on silly customers machines...

Thanks all,

Will have a closer look at these. Most of the time it is knowing how to phrase what it is you are looking for.
It is mainly for the kids homework/assigments, I wonder if the teachers would appreciate "My hard disk ate my homework"
