HiAll,

Is there any downside to removing the turtle shell engine cover and leaving the engine bare?

Cheers,

Corey

Nope ! :D
Lets the heat soak out & reduces the hot air getting sucked into the engine. Looks a bit untidy without the cover on, but get a set of aftermarket engine covers or make your own as some members have started doing..............Problem solved.

Absolutely spotless engine bay VooDoo... ;)

P.S mine runs naked right now, but I'm going to get the new VZ 2-piece (Pontiac GTO) Holden covers when VZ is launched... Provided they're not too expensive...

First thing I did when I got the SS was to get rid of the turle! So much heat being trapped!

I'd ditch my turtle shell cover if I could only get my hands on a set of the genuine GTS red ones without spending the earth. Anyone got any for sale? :(

Cheers

Should be a law put in place... :thump: ..Anyone caught driving with the turtle shell in place to be dragged kicking and screaming if need be to the nearest Lamp post where he should immediately and without prejudice be hung

My previous ute had it's shell banished not long after purchase. But with the current ride I got lazy. Only took it off last week! :bash: Don't beat me, master!
