just as an example, I purchased a 2002 R8 LS1, 31,032KMS on the clock with a 6 speed, fully installed for 9200.00 similar circumstance - vehicle had hit a tree ... have put 3500KM on it since install, never skipped a beat ... seems like a fair deal
