I propose a new rule that thread miners (any thread more than 2 months old)cop an automatic 24 hour ban unless what they post is very relevent (subject to mods discretion)
Some people find it amusing to dig up old threads and post something which is totally irrelevent... Any chance of looking at doing something..
One thread for example.

post 15 got the ball rolling, and that post wasn't really relevent to a 3 month old thread. I'm not having a go at those who posted after that, as chances are you don't even realise its an old thread...
edit: that post was from Perth, so maybe you can explain the relevence of someone from perth stating
I was doing 200+ on my way to work last week in my new cluby... I had better watch it. when the thread was about Sydney.....

yeah.... i don't see a problem with it... 90% of new posts are about stuff that's already been posted before...
No real need to be so pedantic about posting on the forum...

Must plead guilty to posting on such an old forum. As stated, I didn't even think to look at the date it was posted. The joys of being a newbie
Apologies if it was the wrong thing to be doing !

I don't have a problem with anyone posting things in an old thread, except where the first post in months is irrelevent to the thread. It can become a real problem when old threads reappear and people post as though it is more recent.....
Maybe it is a saturday thing... who knows.

You know the forums are pretty good if this is all we're picking on.
Yes some old, tired threads come to life a bit too often (yes i'm an offender) but if something that disturbs you comes up then don't get involved. It's not rocket surgery.
If a thread comes up on new posts then I'll look at it if it's of interest to me otherwise i'll ignore it. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
If a thread really shits you to tears then report it or spend less time on the net.
sorry if i've brought an old thread to life as i didn't check the date on this thread.
end of rant.

And Yes, I posted in that thread too, I didn't check the date either. By the responses above, some may ask is this a pointless thread

Settle fella's!! Post whoring is not allowed, regardless of how old the thread is.
Posting to old threads should be encouraged to reduce the amount of threads here on the same topics, providing the posts are relevant to the topic as has been said.
So make sure your posts contribute in some way to the topic regardless of the age of the thread...........
The resurgence of old threads generally means one thing - that people are doing the right thing and using the SEARCH FUNCTION!!!!!!!
